Shiraz is often referred to as the Cultural Capital of Iran or the city of gardens as it is home to many important poets and offers some beautiful gardens. More than that it used to be the actual capital of Persia for quite some time and therefore offers an interesting mix of sights.
We used our time in the city to explore the best things to do in Shiraz by focussing on attractions and spots that are interesting for younger travelers paired with important historic landmarks such as Persepolis or the Karim Khan citadel. But we also got to try some Iranian fast food and traditional vegetarian dishes to show you the whole spectra of Persian cuisine.
During our 4 days is Shiraz we experienced some very impressive sights such as the colorful Nasir ol Molk mosque in the early morning or the Shah Cheragh at night. Beside typical tourist attractions we wanted to see what the real Iran is like and reached out to local friends for further recommendations. This way we got to go to places locals use to hangout, have a coffee or simply relax.
This part of the trip was executed within 4 days - following I list all the places I visited & Things to do in Shiraz:
- Vakil Mosque
- Vakil Bazaar
- Karim Khan Citadel
- Shah Sheraq Mosque & Holy Shrine
- Nasir ol Molk Mosque
- Eram Garden
- Chamran Grand Hotel
- Fallodeh
- Tomb of Hafez
- Haft Khan Restaurant
- Persepolis
- Qavam Restaurant
This video is part of „Inside Iran“ - a documentary series introducing you to popular and unknown sights / things to do in Iran as well as the Persian cuisine and the super friendly locals we met on our trip from Tehran to Isfahan, Shiraz and Yazd. With this series I want to create a better understanding of the country and it’s people without focussing on politics or religion.

would have to agree.
I am Iranian and live in the capital. but my #1 favorite city in Iran is Shiraz, not only because of its many gardens and heritages, but also its incredibly friendly and hospitable people! There, if you take a taxi, or just ask for directions from a local, chances are so high you are invited for a lunch at their home and start a life long friendship! Awesome people and city! :)

salom allah elec cone, I am an American (old man 64 yrs old) I attended MTSU college in the mid seventies, back in those days the Shaw was in power and i had a friend named Omid Shabaufi (probably incorrect spelling) to make a long story short he got deported because he was demonstrating. he said he would keep in touch but i never heard from him after he got back to Iran, there was alot of killing in the streets i am told. i wonder if he is still alive though.

Welcome to Iran, Steve! I think your videos are the best ones about Iran's tourist attractions and some of your info is even new and interesting for me as a Iranian! Thank you! Also if you're still in Iran or want to visit here again, I recommend visiting Hamedan, specially in summer. Hamedan is one of the oldest city in Iran with lots of historical places to see and cool weather in summer.
shiraz very very very beautiful......
Hi guys, Thankyou for sharing your real experience in Iran and showing to people the real and routine side of life there. unfortunately most of the western medias show a bad image of Iran to the rest of the world. i enjoy your video and i've wished you could visit my lovely city Abadan too.

I 've lived in many places and cities; Shiraz by far is the best among them. Friendly people, nice vibrant city and, last and certainly not least, beautiful natural environment. Although it is located in the south of Iran, you can experience all seasons. There is even a nice winter sports site for about two hours from its downtown. Highly recommend it for all to visit and enjoy it. Viva all Kakos and DokhtarKhalehas of the city.
Iran🇮🇷 is known as the country of four seasons and it is the fifth country in the world in terms of natural attractions, and it also has an ancient and attractive history, such that it was the first great empire of the world, and for this reason it is among the top ten historical countries in the world. Experience different weathers from cold and snowy weather to mild weather and even the galaxy nights of its deserts. Iran is the best country for traveling and recreation and visiting natural and historical attractions and different cultures as well as delicious foods that are famous in the world. Iran is also the safest country in Central Asia and I have never seen a more beautiful country than Iran.😍😍😍🤩🤩🤩
Glad both of you enjoyed Persia. Can't wait to visit this beautiful country .
#IRAN IS THE BEST

The name of our professor was hamenaz tofangdar. She was teaching persian language in Iran in tehran at the faculty of world studies foreign students. I truly loved her a lot.

Your videos are impeccable and beautiful
Hi there Steve, many thanks for the very informative and interesting videos! Keep up the good work! How many episodes will there be in total in your 'Inside Iran' series and which other places did you visit? Also what was in the coffee at the end? :D
@BackPackerSteve
7 жыл бұрын
The coffee? Hm. I can't remember ;) The series will only have 4 episodes..so unfortunately it will end with the next one from Yazd. But I might be returning for another edition as the feedback is so great and people seem to like the series (apart from that I'm fascinated by the country).
@f458italiano

Yes, you should definitely return for another edition, there is a lot left for you to explore! I think you would love the north of Iran(Shomal in Farsi) with its beautiful, evergreen landscapes right next to the Caspian Sea not to mention other historical cities with UNESCO world heritage sites such as Tabriz as well as the island of Kish :)

Hi, I'm from Abadeh, which is located in north of Shiraz. Abadeh is a small city but it has some cool art to offer. Wood carving is one of the local products and I believe it is well known through out Iran. As far as I know Abadeh's falodeh is the best and Shiraz is famous for its ice-cream. Anyways, I'm glad you guys had fun in Iran, especially Shiraz!
well come in my iran guys iran very nice and have good people and ........
