Cecil's scenes with Golbez bring me to tears, tbh...The way he just wants his big bro fighting beside him... Too precious.

the definition of an anti-villain. he has such a great voice and character development. Golbez is the MVP of that game.

He's probably my favourite character story wise, such a good dude. Plus with the amount of times Keeping the Peace plays when he's in a scene it's basically his character theme lol and I love that song

I wouldn't really call him an Anti-Villain as he doesn't harbor any hatred or malice despite using the Dark Arts.

The first two dissidia has top notch voice casting and directing imo, as well as sound and music.

It's amazing how this game distinguishes Golbez,or should I say Theodore as a character who making progressive changes. First he starts off showing his evil intentions,playing second fiddle to the other villains and just stringing them along,which makes us think at first that he is still truly evil and in line with Chaos. That is...until his talk with Kain. Golbez drops some subtle hints that he may be in the side of the heroes but he has to remain "incognito" for a while as he makes his actual moves to help his brother Cecil,and his allies. Also,notice how he keeps mentioning Cecil when he talks with Kain. This is a hint to show he still has love and care for him,even though he won't admit it. Soon afterwards,note how he helps the other warriors of light by pointing them into the right direction without actually telling them what to do. It's really fascinating and admiring that he would go that far to see his brother and allies success than rather his own accomplishments

Golbez reminds me of Skull Knight here. He shows up to give the heroes cryptic messages and aids them in subtle ways. Also they’re both big armored dudes.

Dude that final scene my eyes and heart literally bursted with tears. You are based and i hope you and your waifu live long and prosper my friend

I must say that I love the brotherly love between Cecil and Golbez, they have been my favorites of Final Fantasy. Despite Golbez’s doubts, he does his best to help his little brother (To other warriors too but more to Cecil) in even the smallest detail possible and Cecil is always sympathetic, which at every opportunity, He asks his brother to join him since he wants to be with the only family that is right now in this mess between deities and knows that Golbez is suffering because he is on a side that he did not choose. Another thing is that he doesn’t mind protecting his older brother from anyone (even from friends, but I’m sure Golbez wouldn’t allow it) even though he’d be betraying Cosmos since he’s considered an ally of Chaos, he always keeps in mind that family and friends come first no matter what they are

Dear god, Golbez Voice Actor profile is quite close to Christopher Lee..

Thanks so much for putting all this work into these compilations. I find myself looking forward to Wednesdays because of them. If you don't mind me asking I have two questions: Do you include the scenes from the reports in these compilations? It's been too long since I played the games to remember if any of the scenes in the video might have been from the reports. The only ones I remember are the Kuja-centric ones (and they're the ones I'd love to rewatch the most but unfortunately they're only available on youtube in pretty shabby quality). And have you decided in what order you're doing the characters? If so, would you mind sharing a list so I'd know even better what to look forward to? Thanks again!

Thanks very much :) These compilations include ALL story content for the characters, including the reports, text-only scenes, and the Japanese only Official Quests (I recreated them in English). As for the order, I'm going by game, hero then villain. So next week will be Bartz, then Exdeath, etc.

I feel a bit stupid about not noticing the order in the videos you already uploaded but in my defense I missed two of them and that made me think you might not be going by order of games. On the plus side that means I have two more videos to catch up on, though. Thanks for taking the time to reply, I really appreciate that.

And both Golbez's younger brother (Cecil) and Itachi's younger brother (Sasuke) are voiced by Yuri Lowenthal. What a coincidence. LOL

I don't know why, but his voice reminds me of James Avery (Uncle Phil from Fresh Prince of Bel Air).

If I was Elon Musk I'd donate so much to people who still make Dissidia Final Fantasy content today.
