yep, Texas Parks and Wildlife Code § 62.0125 sure does explains it. a fine of $200-$2000 and/or 180 days in Jail. i ddnt know this at all till u said it n i had to research it just to see if it is in my state as well. Check ur state laws. not sure if other states does the same.

I had a confrontation with an off duty Desk Sergent. He came up all aggressive to my friend for fishing and then I walked up to see what was happening. He then said he was a cop and he would arrest me if I didn't drop my fishing pole. I asked to see his badge, he refused. He called the police on us. End result: good day interrupted. As the alleged cop kept trying to up matters with the Police one of them said "It's ok Sarg we have this go back to your desk". He stormed off in a huff.

I suppose that depends on the location. I had a fisherman cast a ten ounce weight at my boat in an attempt to injure myself and my passengers while traveling thru a marked navigation channel. Just because you can reach a boat casting from a bank doesn’t mean the boat has no right to be there. This is a problem around docks and inlets. Entitled people think they can throw a line regardless of the boat’s presence. Perhaps you wouldn’t do this and I apologize for my flippant comment.

@@dentalnovember location, the person, the day, the temp, the bite... so many variables in life. No, I would never cast intentionally towards a boat, it's a shame and disgrace that happened to you. As that is a very dangerous situation. Some boaters wouldn't intentionally get close enough to those on the bank, some bankers wouldn't do it to a boat, but some of each would do it to each other. We all know it happens both ways on both sides. It's just a shame some people can't get along. Moral of the story, that man feared for his safety and that of his children and was being intimidated. If the person truly was an officer, just imagine how he could act and what he could do while wearing his uniform, ya know. Apology accepted.

Is culture problem, as much as I hate to stereotype... they are what they are and they certainly keeping that stereotype ALIVE & Well. I would just call police, cut the bull crap, your putting your kids in danger.

We fished at the "catfish"' pond and caught and released nothing but perch/blue gill. Glad you opted to leave and not resort to violence. You are a good mentor to your children and other viewers whom may encounter pushy people 😉

Some places attract the wrong type of people and will lead to confrontations. I have found consistently that road bridge fishing seems to be a recipe for run ins w ppl you dont want to be with. I avoid these areas because it ruins the experience. Usually these areas are somewhat remote or out of view, so you will be on your own if someone confronts you. Always bring a weapon for self defense and keep alert for trouble.
