Fun fact: when I was in third grade, I was sexually assaulted(means no penetration involved)by an 8th grader. I don’t think he even got suspended. It was a Christian school. A CHRISTIAN SCHOOL.

I live in London, and in most schools, including mine, a lot of people wear hijabs. As a Christian, I respect their religion, as we are all equal human beings, and every single one of us is special, no matter the religion. I had Muslim friends growing up and never asked about their hijab. It was just something I knew was a part of their culture. The coolest thing about being a girl was the rare occasions of seeing my friends without it 😮I felt like it was a secret only a select few can witness 😅 honestly, it was always weird seeing them without it. It’s like when people stared at me when I wasn’t wearing glasses. They would show me how they put it on when they needed to fix it, and would even use me as a guide to make sure they wouldn’t accidentally stick themselves with the pin. Thankfully I never witnessed anyone pulling their hijab off or making fun of them for it. But sadly I have heard of these stories from peers at other schools.

She is very brave, people need to learn to respect other people’s cultures

My best friend is Muslim and I’m Christian. I love her to bits and I would NEVER EVER IN MY ENTIRE LIFE say and even think she was a terrorist. She is so kindhearted, thinks of others before herself,I adore her and would always consider her my sister. But she is still treated differently even though she is the same. We were both in the store today buying some junk food(coz we are so unhealthy) when we arrived at the checkout. I went first and I paid like usual and the woman started a nice convo with me and even gave me some chocolate for free and waved goodbye. My bestie went next and the woman gave the dirtiest look, when she gave the money she spent 5 mins(not exaggerating at all) checking the notes and making sure they weren’t fake. She kept on looking at her hijab and it was quite annoying as she was being very rude. She also didn’t give her any chocolate and when she asked for a receipt she started shouting at her and was being so rude. I asked if she got chocolate and she said ‘what chocolate’. I hated that and was waiting for my sister who was after her. She treated her perfect and gave her chocolate and nice looks. There was a Muslim woman after her and she treated her rudely. I had enough and confronted her and told her what I saw, she was like ‘we never know. I’ve heard the news. She could be one’ I asked her what one, she said ‘she could be a terrorist’. I lost it there, I started screaming at her ‘ there are over 2 billion Muslims in the world and u think she would be a terrorist. Terrorists are not Muslims, they are people with no heart and are evil and are going to rot in hell the rest of there lives. Islam is a religion of peace and love’. I told the manager and he kicked her out. I felt so bad for her. She should be treated with the upmost respect and love. The news just like to share the bad things.

It happened to me before,when I was in 5th grade,2 7th grade Christian girls said to me"Hey!take of that rag!"I said to them"it's called a hijab and i bought it yesterday"it was a black hijab with turquoise silloquets,they kept telling me to take it off till I said"nuns wear the hijab,why can't I?"they were silent till 10 seconds then one of them lashed out on me and literally ripped the hijab from my head,one of my friends nearby ran and actually kicked the girl and said "you mess with my friend,you mess with me."the girls backed up and walked away while my friend helped me fix my hijab.

That really sucks. How can that girl call herself a Christian? I'm really sorry, and I hope that you never get bullied for that again. I am a Christian and I think everyone should know that just because we do want everyone to be saved, doesn't mean it has to be in such a rude and uncomfortable way. Pulling someone hijab off is really disrespectful because it's part of our religion(Islam) and if you do that and want to see their hair for me it's a sin (kinda) but yeah it's just my opinion Edit: For all of you who is wondering/ Asking "Islam girls aren't allowed to show their hair? I Love yeyo Muslims are not forced to wear a hijab. I know plenty of Muslims who don't wear a hijab and plenty who do. And having a school uniform without religious articles of clothing is basically saying that people shouldn't be allowed to follow what they think is right. Which is an ACTUAL violation of human rights.

Its so sad to see alots of muslim girls got bullied for wearing a hijab at school, and its important for muslim girls to wear it. Yall should spread love, not hate on muslims. Muslims also humans, just because were not in the same religion, doesnt meant we can bullied them.

I don't know anyone who is Hijab but I just wanted to say that I love your voice! You sound like a guardian angel!!! 💝💝

This is horrible. No one should ever have to go through this. My friend is Muslim and when we used to go to school since corona some boy pulled her hijab off and she tried to run to the bathroom but a lunch aide stopped her and said that she was not allowed to go to the bathroom during lunch which was unbelievable. She opened the door anyways and put her hijab back on. She came back crying and put her head down on the table crying and would not talk. When we got upstairs and she told the teacher and the boy was put in detention. I felt really bad for her because what the boy did was disgusting. I really hope that the world will change one day.

In all the time when I was younger and clueless about Islam, I had never thought about taking off a hijab off of a girl or woman's head like that. I actually cringed when the hijab was pulled off while I'm not a muslim; I knew it had some kind of violation in doing that.

Once in 7th grade, me and my Muslim friend were walking to lunch when another girl snatches off my friend's hijab. She was the only Muslim in the school wearing the hijab but she never had troubles in the past. The reason the bully did this was because the bully was told to take her hoodie off but she thought it was unfair that my Muslim friend kept her "hoodie" on. Anyway now the bully is in the streets somewhere while my Muslim friend is getting somewhere in life.

The hijab is an important part of Muslim identity; you can't go around being indifferent saying " it's just a towel on your head." The purpose of the hijab is to preserve the wearer's modesty and privacy. So no, the hijab is not a towel, its a symbol of Islam.
