We found a couple great spots for dispersed camping near Eagles Nest Wilderness. There are spots among the aspen, spots in the meadows and spots with a view. While we were camping we had a great thunderstorm that put on quite a show. The thunder was booming and the lightning was incredible, jagged bolts lighting up the sky. And after the rain comes the rainbows.
Besides the weather, we really enjoyed our camping experience here. The camp spots are great and wandering around the area is beautiful and peaceful. Plus there are several trails that can be accessed to venture into Eagles Nest Wilderness. It was a very peaceful and scenic stop on our never ending road trip!
