I really can't commend her taste regarding gifts.

The original SW was practically beat for beat "The Hero's Journey" a storyline as old as campfires around which stories are told. Disney SW is a confused mess at best, no compelling story lines, no redemption, nothing but bland musings of narcissists who believe in nothing but themselves. Rather than create stories that echo the best, they hold up a mirror to look at themselves. But the shareholders who would in better times serve to call BS on these creatives have chosen to be silent shills. We do not live in either the best or worst of times, we live in the blandest of times.

The Acolyte cost $22.5 million per episode to get the same viewership numbers from a worldwide release. And that 4.8 million views are likely the views from both episodes 1 and 2 added together.

They usually do, all the way back to like 2016? I think they started around the time of Amy Schumers feminist comedy special which was one of the worse things ever? That led to them removing parts of the user review system then after the negative votes often suspiciously disappeared on things, usually large big name products from companies with deep pockets. The prevailing theory is that they like youtube have some system where you can pay a certain amount to have a bulk amount of votes removed for a fixed price. A system that people worked out youtube had back when Call of Duty Infinite Warfare's trailer came out and set a record for negative votes. People noticed a bizarre set of behavior with the downvotes where 5K, 10K , 15K increments of downvotes were disappearing or 5/10/15 upvotes would suddenly appear out of now where as opposed to organically. A behavior that started at the same time activision started their damage control/pr blitz.

4:22 "... an audience score in the 30s, over at Rotten Tomatoes, even if it at times, has slid down into the high 20s." Actually, it slid all the way down to 26%, and sat there for hours, until it suddenly jumped up to 34% and then resumed the slow downward slide again. (It's now sitting at 29% again.) So either RT deleted a bunch of low ratings last night, or a bunch of bots bombed it with high ratings, within half an hour or so.

If Walt Disney is looking down from Heaven watching what is happening to his company, he must be pissed.

Play the board game Rebellion. It was made with love. $100 may look pricey, but it has 153 miniatures. The expansion Rise of the empire improves the game. Harsh rules channel has a great tutorial. You need a big table, a whole day, 2 players and every game is memorable. I was fed up of corporate drama too. Play board games. You will not regret it.

To save face, studios can lie about numbers and make up other rationalizations, but they KNOW they're failing and losing money. That they continue on the same path is mind-boggling.

If 4.8M is the initial viewership then what is the dropoff rate and what percentage of the initial viewership watches to the end.

It's also important to note that Star Trek Enterprise by its 4th Season had been moved to the dead man's slot with a view of manufacturing a pretext for cancellation. The Acolyte is on streaming so can be watched whenever anyone wants. That makes those numbers even worse because if streaming had been around in 2008 we would have seen another three seasons.

Every time a critic takes the corporate dollar so blatantly, they lose all credibility with fans.

Their entire strategy seems predicated on the assumption that the old fans will always be there, like a battery that never runs out. The only way this ever gets repaired is if enough people stop. Stop subscribing, stop watching, stop giving them money and numbers.

IDC what they do, Star Wars died the day Phantom Menace premiered.

Forbes seem to have made a conscious decision to start approaching reviews in something resembling good faith. I've noticed it over the last year or so.

"Review bombing! Viewers are review bombing the audience RT score!" The blatant projectionism is sure palpable with this one. It is the so-called "'critics' score" which is the one that is really being positively bolstered by "critics" who would otherwise be ignored by RT in their calculations. They are getting SO desperate now.

Very true. How that woman is still employed is mind-boggling.

My biggest question is why do they keep doing this? I mean how disconnected from the audience can you get?

As with Disney’s Willow this show is failing spectacularly.

Disney is more delusional than EVS and Nina Infinity.

They knew it was bad. They already planned to cope. They made up the entire thing. Why do it in the first place ?

At this point, I am surprised that disney can still be surprised at how badly they are doing. How many YEARS of "Get Woke, Go Broke" have we had, now? And yet they still end up "in shock" and break down "in tears" at their poor performance! Just how badly are they lying to themselves about all of this - all day, every day???

The critics are the acolyte's, just followers.

I miss the connection I had with the characters in star wars ....it's all gone today....smh

I am personally uninterested in the product itself (I'm not the target audience anymore), but I am interested in the economics of it, How much money do these shows make? How much are they projected to make? Are they economically viable? Those questions are more interesting than critical or audience scores.

It's like your favorite restaurant was bought out by someone who insults its previous customers. We all like to walk by the restaurant from time to time to watch them struggle to stay above water, but we would rather eat dirt than eat there again.

This is a darker Star Wars. Look at that cast. 🤣

EVERYTHING after Return of the Jedi is pure crap.

I recommend Erik Caine's KZread channel. He's a leftist for certain but he doesn't march lockstep and is willing to discuss actual problems with the execution of diversity and inclusion. It's a breath of fresh air to listen to someone who can disagree without hating.

It's the same as it was with the Witcher: the showrunners got no love for the source/franchise. What they love is their own "ideals" and promoting "values". But that's not how "entertainment" works. Sadly, since the "professional-mainstream-critics" praise them (either out of sharing ideology or fear of loosing access) they feel vindicated and attack those whichs opinion should matter the most to them: the audience.

For context as to how stupid this business model is imagine someone that works for Honda as a lead developer has no idea how cars run and what your lineup is at any given time. Fans express absolute distain for a product and want something different that you have the ability to offer and you absolutely refused to give it to them year after year, luckily we have a brand like that in the car industry. It’s called Nissan…

Just ignore it and everything else Diney does and do not support them in anything . Sooner or later even venture capital has to walk away. Let Disney fail.
