Another interesting and fun thing you could do with mack is there were those tiny paint cans or oil cans or whatever they were I don’t fully remember. But if you put them under him he would glitch out and sometimes stand up straight

A fun thing I discovered about moving Mack (and any other stationary character) is that if you moved him far enough away and turned to where you were not facing him while sitting where his original spot was, he would respawn and violently launch himself and Lightning, with Lightning getting thrown hundreds of feet into the air and practically across the map on rare occasions.

My uncle worked for Rainbow in 2006 and he took me to tour the studio on a visit where I got to play a dev build of the game a good year or so before release, before there was any environmental lighting. I just remember how cool that was to me as an 8 year old, and had lots of fun when it came out. Those cutscenes bring back nostalgia I didn't know I had.

My favourite thing to do in this game was to screw around in free play, being immersed in the world building. I discovered that if you time your pivot to backwards driving to hit an npc caracter with your backside you can send them flying. If you hit someone just as you reach max declination on a hill you will hit them into the far distance, even past the skybox if I remember right.

As a huge Cars fan since it came out, when I first played the game, the open-world blew me away. Being able to drive through Radiator Springs, the dirt track and Talfin Pass was amazing. I still love it now.

I was a really a small kid back then, didn't even know how to save the game so every time I have to start all over again

Two player mode is fun. The driving mechanics are really good and when you play against friends who are as competent as you are then the races become a challenge. I remember my cousins and I just racing each other over and over again when we were kids

I remember when I had this game. I used to go around in free mode and push NPCs across the map and off cliffs. Great dialogue when they complain.

I almost never played PC games, especially PC games based on movies, but I bought this one when it came out and loved it! The writing, the animation, the environments, and the voice acting were great. And the gameplay felt like a good balance of engaging "side missions" mixed with open world exploration. Even though it was roughly 14 years ago now, I still have fond memories of this game. Thanks for making such an awesome review.

I remember playing it basically every morning before leaving for school

I remember there being a really difficult jump for a collectible deep in the desert where the turn right to go left stuff happens in the movie. My 12 year old sister spent like 3 hours trying to do the jump and then I waltzed in and nailed it first try iirc. That and the Mater missions scared the shit outta me. Good times.

one thing i love about the game is how well they constructed the extra characters. fletcher and gerald are jaguars, and el guapo is an el dorado. also, i think the soundtrack is literal perfection. It has some old classic rock as well as ole 50's vibes to suit the strip scene (which at night is amazing as said in the video)

I remember just not bothering to do any of the races cause I was young and scared, and just did about 50 hours of just free roam and having some much fun crashing into stuff. XD

I remember seeing an advert for this and, being a young dingus that didn't understand differences between consoles, ended up with the shitty DS version :'(

@Robin Tob I had a very similar experience. I borrowed the full game from a friend, played through it completely in about a weekend, and ended up buying the DS version after thinking it was going to be the same game (roughly). I wanted to give it another playthrough where I didn't just burn through the main story and take my time with it. Needless to say I was disappointed with the DS version, and out of the money I had saved up from my allowance to buy it. The same thing happened with King Kong too actually. I gotta stop buying DS movie tie-ins.

I've read this in a website a long time ago: The game was supposed to be released short after the movie's premiere but when the movie was delayed the studio keep the game in development, maybe fixing bugs and polish the game mechanics to make some time and releasing it as planned. That's why the good reviews about the game as not the typical movie based game

I played it on ps2, lost the disc, got a ps3 super slim, found the disc, couldn't play it, then actually played the GameCube version on dolphin

I had this game for my PS2 as a kid and I played the hell out of it. I remember it being really tough so I must’ve been truly awful at it. Also I remember freaking adoring the soundtrack, even the corny All American Rejects song that I loved so much I went out and bought the album ... I was 11 years old, don’t judge me

I feel satisfied knowing that other people do indeed like this game. Or at least did. Cause it's so easy now.

I remember spending most of my time in this game just ramming into traffic cars in free roam, their dialogue is just too funny to ignore. X3 I still have my old PS2 copy, I might pull it out and revisit it someday.

Cars was one for the first ever movies I ever remember watching and I loved it and used to sing the songs and watch it over and over cars 2 I loved (10/11) but everyone else didn't. Cars 3 i saw more recently and it was a worthy conclusion to the series i grew up on. Though I never played this game, seeing you do that brought back some nice memories so thank you

DUBPL8S 666 what’s the difference between cars and mater national? (Aside to the story obviously)

SeymourPant mhm, well obviously the story, the map is a slightly different. Ornament Valley has an airport, a underground tunnel which is only accessible in 1 race. not too sure about Tailfin Pass, havent played it in about a few months. But there’s other small differences like the UI, as in the mini map, the speedometer, and the icons in general. The mechanics are all the same, and Radiator Springs has a racing stadium that is being built through out the game. As u progress the stadium gets more finished. But i would recommend Race O Rama cuz Mater National is wayyy tooo short. One cool thing is that in Mater National is that u can collect parts hidden around around the map to build Monster McQueen and you can drive him in the open world.

SeymourPant u honestly should have, its short but its still really fun to play.

I used to play this on the XBox 360. It's quite rare to have a racing game on 7th-gen consoles where the X or A button is still the accelerator, since that gen goes for the trigger buttons.

Gran Turismo 5 did it

I just remember driving around the world and absolutely loving the meter stealth missions. But also that they scared me soo much lol

I remember this game! I had it on my Wii. I also remember always getting lost, especially when I tried looking for some post cards (like the hidden objects in GTA). Never got to see what happens when you got all of them.

those little tractor's would scream in agony if you flipped them over, scary shit.

This game was a huge part of my childhood. The open world had alot to explore and it was so exciting unlocking new areas. Me and my sister always tried to do all the different side content and collectables. I never managed to save up enough to get the character skin I wanted

This was my go to game al through 2007 to 2010. And played occasionally after that aswell. It was just great

GTA 6 looks great! Didn't know it would be on PS2!

I loved this game as a kid on the wii i wanted to try and explore everything in the map and wanted to go out of bounds

I'm so happy I came across this video. I remember playing this with my little brother and beating the harder races for him. And just driving around the map endlessly. I can still remember the music. lol Thank you for bringing back those memories

Literally my childhood, I remember getting this from the library, tractor tipping was my favorite

Dude I can still hear the laggy sound effects and soundtrack from this game in my sleep.

Cars race o Rama was a classic

I remember playing the demo for this as a kid back when it first released. Fun times.

Never knew about the CHMPION. Guess this'll be my excuse for revisiting this game at my age (17).

I recently found a disc of this game lying arround amongst my movies, and I never played it before. I don’t even know how it got there.

This was one of my first PS2 games. It was so much fun driving around the map and exploring.

I remember playing it, just cruising around the city it was so fun to explore everything

"One for the ladies." That's far because he got so high that all everyone could see was his underside. Nice one

PLEASE, RACE'O'RAMA WAS AN AMAZING GAME... The DS port was actually kinda difficult too, I might add

I remember opening up more of the desert and thinking "wow...this game is so cool" because of how much I had to explore

a simple remaster for this game would be phenomenal. dang, not even a remaster, we could just get a port of the x360 (wich exclusively had the best visuals out of any version) to newer consoles i just imagine comfortably playing this game on a switch lite... man that would be so nice

This game has so many ports it’s a shame if we don’t see Cars Gba or DS on this channel.

watching your videos is as comforting as drinking a hot cup of honeyed tea on a cold day while wrapped in a blanket with my cat purring on my lap

The stealth mission with Mater absolutely terrified me as a young kid. I also played the browser game a ton, and I remember when they were shutting down, they gave everyone nearly infinite money to do and get whatever they wanted before it closed down.

TOY STORY 3 on Xbox 360 really surprised me!

Vollmer Tobias I had Toy Story 3 for Wii. It was a pretty good game and if Im not mistaken it has the same physics as the Disney Infinity games.

well fun fact, their was supposed to be a sequel but a space themed open world for buzz but that opened the creator's ideas to add Disney characters. The space world idea was used for the toy story playset. @@funnyguy5516

@Mammoth Supremacy 55 both are surprisingly good. TS2 is more Mario 64sh, TS3 is team work level based, with a great build your own city side mode. (The ps3 let's you get Zorg)

This game and the game Cars Race-O-Rama were my favorite games as a kid. I had them on the Wii and I loved using the motion controls to jump and drive.
