I was thinking when Nick said about her parents studying bone density and then Zenon being in space from age 5, movie coulda gone a lot darker if her parents field of study is actually still relevant at that point...

The most unrealistic thing in this movie: All the teenagers unsupervised in a room alone with only a hologram teacher, and they're all obediently focused and following along to the teacher's lesson. I've experienced high school classrooms turning into a monkey zoo exhibit when the teacher leaves for FIVE MINUTES. I've heard the horror stories of teaching remotely in 2021. You aren't fooling me, Disney lol.

Yes! I lived in Chicago up until recently with the most glorious public transportation to a much smaller city where you have to wait an hour for a bus that barely goes anywhere, the whole city was designed for cars and it pisses me off for multiple reasons. We also need more charging stations for electric vehicles because that's a big issue with people investing in EV's, which sucks because I know someone with a Tesla and that thing is seriously like from the future and every other vehicle is just trying to play catch-up to their technology.

I remember being so obsessed with Zenon when it was regularly airing. Probably still have the soundtrack somewhere too. The interspursed bits of actual ecological/environmental/sociological discussion and governmental policy just made the film analysis all the better.

I always got frustrated at the Zenon sequels because nobody ever listened to her even though she'd been right about near-disaster situations multiple times.

Can you react to the movie "The Last Airbender", the 2010 M. Night Shyamalan film adaptation of the animated show "Avatar the Last Airbender". It's hated by all the fans of the original show but also, even if you don't know the show, it may be one of the worst movies ever. Like every rule of film making, writing, etc. is broken lmaooo. I would love to hear your breakdown of it haha

Oh god they changed and cut out so many details, characters and storylines that had they been able to continue with a sequel or god forbid a Trilogy, it would’ve been a huge and complete mess. So much of it becomes important for the plot later on, like many minor characters they came across coming back to help. Like all the characters of the White Lotus!It’s a half hour show with only 60 or so episodes, like was it too work for them to watch it all to get their lore right!? Or at least learn how the character’s names are Pronounce correctly? Lol sorry rant over lol.

For some reason I kept thinking Zenon was played by Hillary Duff.

I loved these movies as a kid and I was so sad when Raven didn’t come back for the Zequel. Edit: I would love to see you breakdown Get A Clue next 😬 Gotta be worth it for the theme song alone.

Unlike basically every other scifi property ever, this movie has surprisingly plausible future slang. I could totally see a reversed “object-adjective” construction catching on, and the linguistic drift of words like “absolve” and “shivers” into different usages is spot-on. Im actually really impressed that it feels so natural, instead of cringey like usual.

I'm so old I had a mini disk player Walkman. Lmao it was so expensive and by the time anyone would've caught on iPods n shit came out so why would you plug around all these disks and whatever once that happened. I did not want to hear it I continued to only use that mini disk player until the software stopped working Haha 🧡🦇

I actually would like a band whose whole gimmick was microorganisms. Re: The Modesto joke, I have noticed that a lot of Californians can't fathom not living in California, so I actually wouldn't put it past some people to be more willing to live in the cold, unforgiving vacuum of space than, say, Ohio. Also, it's probably my own selection bias, but a lot of these futuristic movies (especially ones about teens or young adults) strike me as inaccurate or implausible now because there are just too many cishets.

As a former claires employee he would've been one of my favorite customers. All you get is Karen's with their kids all day that look at you like you're satan when you tell them about the eternal "Buy 3 Get 3 Free" sale. It never ends.
