He really is thinking about streaming more than anything. Merging the two companies would and packaging them together for streaming would certainly be a lot cheaper than them giving us two separate streaming services.

Remember Diz is getting into the streaming biz and these properties will be a huge addition.

I knew from the moment I heard about this deal that Disney would be looking to setup a seperation between family friendly and mature content instead of shying away from it. They know that, esspecially with Fox out of the picture, there is money to be had there.

LF Drumming mostly likely the defenders and all their separate shows will probably move to Hulu. That's why Netflix has been inversting tons of money in original content. Luckily they have stranger things but their going to need 1 or 2 more hits like that if all these shows are getting removed off their platform

Disney Studios itself likely won't, due to their family friendly image. It will likely be done by Marvel Studios itself, or another Disney arm more suited for R rated content. Disney lets Marvel Studios do whatever they want, so whichever studio does Deadpool they will likely let them do what they like.

Since they’re going after adult content next they should go after MGM studios and get all the rights to James Bond films. MGM is always claiming bankruptcy so just buy them and have one less studio competitor

Fox through Star and its digital arm Hotstar is a really big deal in India from sports to the immensely popular soap operas they are market leaders across the spectrum.India is fast growing and in the process is fast digitising thus more and more people are consuming their content India could be a really big market for the merged company in the years to come probably as big as the USA if not bigger.

Yes! Disney is buying The Sound of Music and the songs from the movie will be in future Little Einsteins episodes.

this deal has ambiguity in it, because Disney already in India is under UTV umbrella and has its own offices, i think may be fox Top leadership couldn't find successors and were tired of or some other factor, their programs creative content in west were fine, they had such long ancient:) even set working from distribution to others.

Well, since Fox killed Logan, and screwed up the F4, I can see MARVEL rebooting it. I mean, yes, the X-Men has a lot of history in their movies, but we gotta see where they either pick up from Logan or just do a complete reboot. They DEFINITELY need to reboot the F4.

LOL, there none such thing as "Disney should not get fox".

The only reason the Disney company lasted as long as it did was because of Roy; plain and simple. Roy kept the businessmen in check and booted them when they got out of control. Every time Disney tried to stop making movies and only bought the rights to other stuff, he got a new CEO and the company was back on track (Miller, Eisner). The problem is, now that the Disneys are dead for good, there is nobody to stop Iger and the company is already in the toilet. He has let Lassiter ruin the parks and produces garbage movies aimed at helicopter moms. Their film company is in the toilet so he has been buying like crazy (star wars, marvel, fox) but the company has completely stopped producing. Just like the housing market collapse in 2007/2008, the stat sheets show huge profits when nothing is actually being produced. The company/parks will start to resemble Universal Studios in roughly 10 years or less. The only way to save the company temporarily is to put Eisner back in charge. At least he is producing/winning awards with Bojack Horseman and knows to stay away from Lassiter/Pixar........... #goodbyeDisney
