Disney Cruise Line 25th Anniversary Silver Day at Sea! | Embarkation Day on the Disney Fantasy!
It's time to sail away on the Disney Fantasy! Disney Cruise Line is celebrating it's 25th anniversary, so this was the first Silver Anniversary at Sea cruise on the Fantasy. There were special decorations throughout the ship, special menu items and the characters were in all-new outfits to celebrate the milestone! After driving to Port Canaveral, we boarded the ship and had a quick lunch at Cabanas before heading to our stateroom, which was 8156. We were in a category 8 verandah room, which was actually upgraded from the Guaranteed Navigator's room that we booked! We explored more of the ship, caught the Sail Away Party, had dinner at Royal Court (one of 3 rotational dining restaurants on the Fantasy) and saw Coney Island Chris, which was the show in the Walt Disney Theater on the first night.

Wasn’t it the best?!
A packing tip that I used for a 10 day trip that involved multiple hotels. I bought large zippered shoe bags and bought key ring labels to attach to each bag. I used the bags for underwear, socks, bras, PJs, sneakers, slippers. I wore tunics with leggings as my day wear and paired daily outfits together and placed those in large clear zip lock garment bags. All I had to do was reach in the bag and pull out an outfit. I kept jewelry to bare minimum. I used clear plastic zipper bags for toiletries, medication, phone charger, adapters and brought a large pull tie garbage bag for laundry and kept that in my suitcase. I used a lanyard for passport, $$$, important papers. I didn't bring an ipad, ipod, just my phone. No laptop. This was vacation. Consider buying a Tile(s) for suitcases and bags. I used a locked backpack and Slingbag. Safe travels.

nice. I'm so excited for our cruise on the Fantasy in August. I was happy it was part of the Silver celebration because we booked well before that was even announced lol I'm glad the castaway club gifts have been upgraded too lol Sling bag was nice, but I like the new one.

You mentioned they upgraded you, did you have to pay for the upgrade room?

In this case, no. We booked a guaranteed navigator’s verandah stateroom, which means DCL assigns the room to you instead of you choosing your own room (good way to save $). Since our ship was only 75% full, they had the ability to upgrade to a full verandah. Separately, they do offer upgrades at check-in at the port (if available) for an upcharge, but it would be significantly less than what was priced online. Hope that helps!
