Disgustang Hits the Road
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Was asked to squeeze the Disgustang in for a new engine and put it back together. It’s back on the road and runs great. Here’s a little test drive. Here’s a little extra video time because it’s been a while since I’ve done one.
Enjoy!

Installing an engine with flip flops on...I wear shoes when I'm washing dishes for fear of ripping off a toenail on the cabinet. 😃
This is why I love Lucky. He does so much of the builds for motortrend. He's just great at turning wrenches and building cool $hit.
This is my favorite Roadkill car. I’m glad David Freiburger has kept working on the Stang.
You do really great work Lucky, I am glad David continues to invest in improving the car.
Nothing sounds better than an American V8 with a cam and dual exhaust...
I really enjoy watching Lucky work , even more when it's a car I have experience with .Great video as always and thanks for taking us along . B
Thanks for putting a smile on my face , good job Lucky.
Bookin' it brother!! You, hands down, do the best ride alongs.
Well done , tight fit on exhaust , and man that ran smooth and surprisingly quiet. You are truly among the elite Craftsmen in your trade.
That motor sounds BADASS! Thanks for the great content Lucky.
This is not just an instillation, it is artisanship. This man knows his cars. killer to watch these vids. Livin' the dream.
Just found your channel. You were always a favorite of mine and thought you should have your own show! Glad to see it, I liked and subscribed!
i'm always impressed on the short live span of every engine on roadkill

Man that sounds so good. Nice work Lucky. Gauges look awesome. 👍✌
It's hard to believe that car was just sitting in a junkyard for years. I'm glad it has been given a new lease on life.
Good to see you working again. Alway great work out of Lucky's Garage.
Lucky, you and Freiburger need a flip flop sponsorship deal, lol! You are a master craftsman. Love seeing your work!
Man I love that thing! Old car patina everywhere (even has a piece of tape on the steering wheel 😁) but all business in the running gear, gauges, suspension....everything that makes it a fun car to drive. Very cool!
That honking Cherry Picker is my new ringtone. Thank you, Mr. Costa.
Nice job 👍 mustang runs really well. Thank you for sharing Lucky 🍀
love the OSHA approved footwear, you & David must shop the same store. lol
Fine job Lucky, you all transformed this car into something very cool !!!
You're the man Lucky! Great idea using a ratchet strap like that to tilt the motor. Definitely be using that in the future!
Great job Lucky!Hope to see the Disgustang on another episode of Roadkill garage doing a couple smokey burnouts at Dulcichs HP farm. Thanks for sharing the content.
Thanks for the Video.... Nothing quite as satisfying as a Job Well Done......
I was glad to see a new upload. Love the way that car sounds when it idles. You have to work on Freiburger's car wearing sandals otherwise you're out of uniform. Hopefully when you were working on it you had my favorite Jimi Hendrix song on your playlist "All Along The Shock Tower", Real Ford music. I can't wait to see Hot Rod Garage with You and Alex Taylor.
I love your Chevelle and the Disgustang!
Awesome billet front cover. I’ve done a few FE engines and this is clean looking and simple

One thing I find cringeworthy is working in flip flops. After 25 Surgeries and a member of the missing digit club I implore you to wear composite toe tennis shoes! Yes I became a Pussy!
The footwear is Freiburger approved.
Thank you for sharing. Job well done.👍👀
Almost an hour of Lucky's Garage Show and Disgustang work...it's a good day to be on YT! I like the way you painted the brackets and heads to give the engine a more factory look. I'd have gone with the darker Ford Corporate Blue that was factory in 1969, but it really doesn't matter. Just my preference and it's not my car. Don't pick up a motor by the intake manifold? Huh...people have only been doing that as long as there have been V8s. Man that looks like fun, it's becoming a proper car now!
Nice work Lucky! It sounds good
Good to see you lucky I'm glad you made it through it
Day of leisure in your shop , love those flip flops !

Several years ago I purchased a '69 Sportsroof Mustang that was rotting out behind a guys house. He had campaigned it as a drag car for several years. It features the same paint and trim code as the Disgustang and I've followed her for that reason. I fitted mine with a 351W and AOD.
Keep up your great work and attention to small details as always I'm still learning from you and I've been wrenching for almost 50 years I'm just grouchy now.

Lucky, you broke the first rule of an engine install on KZread; three guys and a girl standing around the engine bay yelling "Up! Down! Sideways a hair! Towards me! Diagonally to the northwest!"😂 Good to see the ol' gal on the road again! Go, Disgusting, go!! Thanks, Lucky!✌️❤️🙂🇨🇦 P.S; looking forward to the Roadkill Nights build as well!!

Looks like the passenger side radiator mount is bent or at an angle, or is that just the light?
I dig the ac lines ,very clean
In all my 35 years of working in a garage I have Never worn stupid flip flops I've always worn protective shoes or boots if you drop that alternator on your bare foot you're going to the hospital but if it drops on your protective shoe ware then mostly you will be ok you may get some bruising but no broken bones why risk it when you're a good mechanic like lucky you would think common sense would kick in but hay you see this time after time in the states it's not as if you get charged the earth for injury in hospital over in the US at least here in the UK it's free after you have paid your national insurance lol so lucky put some protective foot coverings on and save those feet from severe pain all the best from john from Rugby UK.ps another great video.
I love it brother you finally started working on something worth working on Ford power forever baby
How do you like working with Alex? Her Dad Dennis is a fabricating legend! Did you see that young lady wheel a Pro Mod recently? She is fearless.
Digging the OSHA safety foot wear.... 😂

I don't see how they can stand to wear those flip-flops or sandals, whatever they are, all the time. They are bad for your feet, and give zero protection it something drops of spills on your feet. I love Lucky's dry sense of humor.

What a fun ending. I had a ‘69 and it reminded me of driving it home from high school in 1973.

Header bolts I use those wrenches that have the 1/2 turn in the open end. They work so well. It’s worth the try
Nice spending some shop time with ya!
Wow! I thought my 3rd gen F body LS swap was tight, it is a piece of cake compared to this. Always enjoy your content Lucky. Thanks
Love those non slip mechanics boots.
I like the footwear respect to the owner, I see why you two get along 👍
Man Lucky I wish I had a tad of your knowledge. Have a '85 Chrysler 5th ave, lean burn gone, distributor changed and now a regular carter 2 barrel. It was running and driving fine. Then like a switch. Hit they key and nothing happens anywhere. Checked lower ignition switch n good, starter relay jump and starter goes. But primary will not turn on. I am completely lost. Oh an if you turn on the rear defroster the dash comes to life. I wish you could stop by and help out a tad. Love ya man. Hot Rod garage or Garage squad or even Road kil, you rock sir.
That car brings back some fond memories. My 1st car was a 1969 Mustang with a 3 speed on the floor with the 302. I paid $400 for the car in 1976. That was my freshman year in high school. That was very similar to the color of this car.
We love you Lucky! But damn, I'm worried about the future of HotRod Garage. Staff changes just don't sit right. I guess time will tell. Keep up the great work!

Kind of thought we might see an oil accumulator on this after the mishap at Honnigan’s shop.
Had to cancel Motortrend when they cancelled Dirt Every Day. Glad I can still get content from Lucky on KZread!
This brings me back to pulling my '70 Impala 350 engine out with a forklift to change a flex plate by myself. Not as hard as lining up an input shaft into a pilot bearing.. but still a lot of 'adjusting'.
So say I'm at a cruise night & some Dude tells me he did what I just watched you do by yourself and I'd probably be a bit skeptical , you Da Man ! When you were talking about someone only letting you know if there WAS a vibration it's the "When I'm right no one remembers , if I'm wrong no one forgets" syndrome....
38:25 "Man, it makes me want to take it out and do it again" LOL
I use to take my nasty 69 out to a county road here near New Waverly Tx , a trek that took you dead east for 60 miles to another sm Tx town , some rather good slower wide bank turns brought you down to 50 sometimes 40 , with a 70 mph speed limit it gave you some good seat time .Rolling farmland was a good way to spend the evening without getting a road trip feel .
Had wondered what had happened to it, would like to see more videos of this car!
kicking butt and taking names - great video even though it was not a Camaro or Chevelle 😁
Freiburger is so 'Lucky' to have you!! 🤭
Well, if I was on that end of the US I would stop by and help you out for free. It would be a great learning experience for sure!
