Disfellowshipped Jehovah's Witness Provides Words of Wisdom

#exjwsthink #exjwinterview #exjw #jehovahswitnesswomen #jehovah
In this interview, Lady Cee interviews Helen, a long time Jehovah's Witness that woke up to the truth about the truth after serving many faithful years. Her husband of 54 years, decided decades ago that he did not want to continue being one of Jehovah's Witnesses because he never believed the religion to begin with. Yet their love survived the test of time and was a much stronger bond than simply going out in field service and attending mundane meetings.
Helen shares her experience on how she met her husband and why she eventually joined her husband in a quest to live her life now and not for some future date.
She offers a lot of words of wisdom that can help many people learn how to survive after leaving the Watchtower, Bible & Tract Society.

I’ve studied for a lot of years never had gotten baptized & I have my best friend who is a witness we met cause we both drive a truck for a living. It’s been almost 20yrs of a friendship. He never pushed me to be a witness & he is still my friend. He tries to tell me to go to meetings I just listen to him & he lets it go but most of all he is still my friend😊 So this interview said it all what about all the good people in this world Why would God destroy them. I don’t know the scripture but I just listened to it in Genesis. Life is too short to play judge & jury but to encourage people to live a positive life build people up not taking them down. It’s just having a good heart.

Helen is, in real life, exactly as she presents herself in this interview. My wife and I are so honored to count her and husband Richard among our dearest friends. As discussed in the interview, I have met many ex-Jehovah's Witnesses over the past 15 years and far too many of them are very damaged in some way. Spending any time at all with them is burdensome and mostly a negative experience. And then you meet Helen - a very classy lady who proves that your life does not end when you make the choice to leave the cult - but really just begins. She proves that you can leave, get on with your life, and enjoy what the world around us offers. Great interview!!!

I really can identify with Helen. Just coming out of the JW religion for 20 years myself and being older, I can identify. I have only been out 3 months myself but I sure the hypocrisy 10 years ago but you just go with the flow I let someone else do the thinking. I have always been independent person but sometimes you lose your way when you are older and single. I am so glad I've always had a rebellious spirit and one that Doesn't always accept things at face value. I started doing my own Research and found bits And pieces that weren't quite right. This of course was verified by so many others that were suffering from the same maladies. Good for Helen for always having that spirit of curiosity And common sense. Her being older speaks volumes because here in lies the wisdom.... Thank you so much.

I have grown to realize many things since I left! Today, I know I was very egotistical about my story, my pain, hurts and bruises causing needless suffering! The hurts stuck to me like glue and I would replay them over and over in my head! I was too numb to feel too much else, so I was the walking wounded, without a home, friends who really understood, so I was just lost really! To my credit though, I knew not get involved with any one or anything, that would have expectations of me. I knew and accepted that I was unstable. Time has helped me to be able to realize what happened to me, to my family. I had no personal power, had not learned to trust myself, so I allowed others to market to me their worldview, their solutions! Little did I know the clever and expert way groups like the wt operated! The materials were organized to literally lead me to the waters of baptism. The shining, sweet and warm personality of my bible study conductor had primed me to just slide right into the waters! Having cut off all former associates I was in. The pressure though subtle was used to move me forward towards their ends! Guilt was too a force so I surrendered like so many though never fully convinced on topics, like the sister here mentioned. I reasoned my questioning away and stopped listening to myself. I was looking for answers and the wt group provided them. I was nineteen, had studied the truth book, was impressed and thought I had found the oasis my parents, friends and family lacked. Today, I see the world differently! I no longer believe in religion at all. I see the failure of these to remedy my true needs or of those of mankind. Often abuse of all types happen in them all, none are exempt! Knowing now that I am not a robot but an individual keeps me safe from looking to organizations for answers! I simply live by the old axiom " do unto others", nothing else is needed! I have studied many things, and I see clearly, that I was a candidate for being misled like a virgin in the arms of a player! My parents had failed me! They were young, unprepared for the task of raising up us children and I had no respect for them as they were terrible parents so I was a victim already! I believed things that were untrue because It made me comfortable. Looking to others to do for me what it was my responsibility to do led to much hurt. Among these were things like believing a kid, my boyfriend, who I married at eighteen, was mature enough to make the promises he made. He on both knees had promised to care for me as long as he lived if I married him. He didn't. He bowed to the world after the wt abused us both! I stayed in the wt group, raised the children refusing to do as my parents had done. I would not fail them. I experienced the wt differently without a husband though and that is a whole nother story! 🐴 The blatant abuse of power, self righteous personalities, opinions and the lack of knowledge, life experience and little respect for women, human psychology, etc. led them to have little tolerance for me. The sexual overtures from the presiding overseer, two ministerial setvants and other brothers in the congregation who did many things like showing up at my house uninvited, alone without other brothers or their wives would shock some of the friends! They were not what they seemed which was devastating! I never let them in but the tricks continued to get me to let diwn my guard. I then knew for sure why they had disposed of my husband! A few of the elders were well meaning though but I realized that I had to grow up! I was so alone, abandoned, I believed back then with two bruised kids who so needed the wisdom, understanding, fatherly and parental guidance, the counseling of the aged and qualified! Man we were in trouble! A girlchild without a man in the midst of far too many wolvesI I had been in that congregation sixteen years and never knew those folks! Today, I still seek to forgive them, but my eyes are wide open, as to the victimization of the very structure of this and many cults called religion. We see similar after effects from former scientologists, mentalists groups, new age communities., etc., No one holds my answers today, especially after I now realize, that they had skillfully posed the questions in the first place. No one can condemn me to an eventuality unless I allow them to, and I no longer do. Some of us were just young, misled, hurt, alone, lonely and needing a good friend, who would not take advantage of us, but we opened our doors, hearts and lives, to well meaning folks who were trained to get us into their groups with patent answers! Please take your time to heal, limit serious committments, seek counseling, to learn who you are, what you need. The personal self can then choose without coersion and guilt! No more need for the solutions of others who claim things they cannot prove! It just takes awhile to stop thinking like they taught us too, but with time, study and a few healthy friends, it will occur. We must be willing to let everyone go who stands to keep you trapped like them. They no nothing, but what they were taught. Take nothing personal! Desperate people do desperate things! I moved across the country so as to avoid running into those former associates! I did not get into trouble, drugs or things I knew held nothing good though I did a few things I would do differently today, I used common sense to guide me! We must stop hurting ourselves! Be patient and stop rushing into things because we hurt. Learning to give ourselves the gift of healing time, being tenderly compassionate with ourselves like we would a baby! We were taught to follow without questioning, listen without reasoning so it won't be a cake walk. We must trust ourselves to make healthy choices., to live period I am just fine today! I am content and I trust the process of life. I can forgive myself today! I Live on without them all and I wish them well! Thank you!

The "freedom" is wonderful, but you need to keep in mind that when you have a late 30 something year old daughter who remains overly loyal to the organization and reports you to the elders, you simply cant fade away. When you have been able to fade without repercussions, it's one thing. Being announced to the whole congregation in an unfavorable light, it's totally different. Particularly when you never even had an opportunity for the kangaroo court of a judicial committee. When a self righteous, power hungry 'elder' who wants to use you as an example and show you who's boss, decides to get you, you dont stand a chance.

Deb L *hopefully you will find CHRIST who is GOD.... NOT A god. AS NWT SAYS IN JOHN 1:1.I guess it is difficult when so much of support is exerting group pressure on you....please seek out advice of people who are as this lady speaks of not bitter and focused on healing and move forward.A need to think for yourself and stop depending on flawed men with selfish motives for Bible study and throw nwt bible in the garbage. Studying the constant flip flops, the failed prophecy, the characters involved with this cult who were not qualified to interpret scriptures and DEUTERONOMY 18:20-22 which tells people who have belief in GOD that anyone who puts forward false prophecy or it doesn't come to pass, they are worthy of death sentence, verse 20....That's what God said and meant concerning false prophet and /or the prophecy not being OF GOD. THE TRUTH NEVER NEEDS CORRECTION LIES DO, THIS IS WHY JW CULT IS CONSTANTLY CHANGING PREVIOUS DOCTRINES. THIS LADY IS A THINKER NOT A BLINDED CULTIST TYPE. GOD GAVE US DISCERNMENT AND WE SHOULD USE IT... TO BELIEVE THIS CULT YOU MUST BELIEVE RUSSEL AND RUTHERFORD ARE MODERN DAY PROPHET WHICH IS NOT AT ALL INDICATED BY ALL THE FAILED PROPHECY. JW CULT HAS ONE CONSISTENCY.... THAT'S IT WILL ALWAYS BE INCONSISTENT.... EVERY FAILED PROPHECY IS FOLLOWED BY NEW "LIES" OR EXCUSES... DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW IS IT TENABLE TO ANYONE WITH A WORKING BRAIN TO ACCEPT SO MUCH FAILURE IN WHAT THEY SAY FROM ONE DECADE TO THE NEXT.

kram sdrawde please dont preach to me. Ive had a life full of that. I was 40 years in Watchtower so dont advise me there either. The bible is a history of certain people not mine. It has all already come to pass. I no longer believe that Jehovah is a benevolent deity. He is a liar and a war mongering creature who is jealous and selfish. Too bad the JW's dont realize that when they read those words in their corrupted versions. As for the plastic Jesus created by the apostate Saul of Tarsus, I do not recognize that either. The original Christ consciousness taught unconditional love. That is not found in WT. To go beyond that is to fall into man's doctrine. And yes, you read correctly that I said the self appointed apostle Paul was an apoatate. He butted heads with James the brother of Jesus and the true apostles all the time. James warned Paul over and over. The Christ also had warned not to listen to the one who made the claims that Paul made about seeing the 'Lord' in the desert. He was a liar and a huge phoney and yet JW's shun their family over his apostate writings. There is nothing you can possibly say to me that would matter. But thank you for your concern. Oh and lose the all capital letters. That is like yelling at a person. Why would you want to yell at me or anyone else on here, especially since you are preaching? Are you a Pentacostal?

As Helen mention get an education start a hobby even get a job if we never had a career continue to move forward is the best way to remain free of that organization thanks for all the helpful insight.

I'm now seeing why this kinship with awakened JW's is special as we're really all coming off of the watchtower Titanic before it sinks because we recognize how we've been affected and how bad it stinks! Whether faded, inactive, "disfellowshipped" or whatever the borg narrative brandishing label is toward us individually, this shows through Helen's experience and her ex-Bethelite husband's experience we can take the "good" morsels, if you will, that we may have learned from being in the organization and upon leaving map out a plan for rebuilding our life to move forward and make a success of our lives and realize there are plenty of achieveable goals for happiness and satisfaction outside of watchtower. We start understanding the toxicity we've left behind, learn not to be unduly influenced by toxic people, and we can rebuild our lives to put ourselves in a position of strength and not fall back into the JW.Borg narrative of painting anyone who leaves as losers or failures. Helen and her Husband prove what the truth is as do Lady Cee and JT! Thanks for the wonderfully insightful interview with Helen and for her pearls of wisdom, God Bless and Stay Strong!💪👍😇 Dave in Wisconsin via Chicago

BEWARE A WARNING FOR ALL EX JWS ; ROBERT SKYNNER TARGETS EX JWS ; I did a video which said I bore no ill feeling towards Robert Skynner of Christian Comedy Channel BEFORE I was advised to speak with the Police. During my interview with them I was convicted that I had actually been a victim of a conman. THE POLICE TOLD ME ; Con men like Robert do not break the law as they prey on the vulnerabilities and emotions of others. The Police deal with many just like him. They offered me victim support as I was in pieces after they saw the "highly manipulative "letters Robert posted to me some of which they perceived as "threatening" . Sadly there was little they could do except issue Robert with an official warning ( posted on my channel ) . As a Christian I did all I could to help him completely taken in by numerous lies as was Mark Fox. That poor guy is on Morphine due to a degenerative bone disorder yet he still went out to work and tried to support Robert Skynner financially over months in addition to raising his own family. His ministry lies in tatters as his pain at being publically called a conman and thief by Robert has devastated him. You can clearly see Robert do this on the video I uploaded. AFTER speaking to the Police they advised me to publicise what has happened and warn others hence my videos. I will be doing another updating the situation. Whilst I bear Robert no ill will I am having great difficulty coming to terms with the lies he told Mark Fox and others about me, after a huge amount of emotional support , financial assistance given to Robert I am £5000 poorer and broken . I can't believe all the Police told me but know their words were true. I have been the victim of a major conman . Please don't tell me I haven't or my words are hearsay I have provided the evidence, have contacted the Police and apart from offering me victim support and issuing Robert with an official Police warning they can't do anything because lying, manipulation, and preying upon vulnerable people is not against the law. PLEASE BE CAREFUL HE IS VERY GOOD AT GROOMING HIS VICTIMS AND I DON'T WANT TO SEE YOU AS A VICTIM AS MANY HAVE BEEN. Robert is trying to set himself up as a counter cult expert yet to date has brought no one out of the JWs and has only been witnessing to JWs regularly for less than a year ! He has all of the symptoms of a Narcissistic personality disorder details of which I've included on the " Robert Skynner , Liar and Con man of Christian Comedy Channel . "

In this day in age it is a mystery why anyone claims to be a JW with the wealth of information available. I honestly feel most in really don't want to know the real truth about the truth not being the truth. It's just sometimes better to be a follower and not have to make any decisions about your life on your own. That alone is sad. Living your entire life based on lies. I feel bad for those still in.

ExJW Critical Thinker, I've shared things with my mom about the WT's history, some that she knew about and used the excuse "new light". I said, "How much new light can they possibly have? They must really be in the dark if they need that much light to get it right." Then she used the famous line, "But what would we do? Where are we supposed to go?" I told her, "Live in the real world using your own brain and not following a group of men that aren't even inspired." Then she asked me, "Where are you getting all of this information from?" Easy answer, "The Watchtower publications, recorded court cases, and the JW Broadcasting." I guess what's the most pitiful about it is that my parents are very intelligent and generally otherwise smart people, but they are so loyal and obedient to what they've been taught to believe and trust their whole lives.

You and JT have been helpful in practical ways (in terms of educating ex jw's) Christian and Katja, Vinny Vincent, Marc and Cora, ...Danmera, Kevin McFree, Stop the Shunning. So many people who've been helped by being able to just share stories to warn people about what they might be getting into. I guess you could call it Thereputic Venting. I guess that my passion is sharing the gospel with Jehovah's Witnesses, I now have 1,448 videos uploaded to KZread of my conversations with British Jehovah's Witness elders, which have been sorted into play lists by UK region. Recently I've been discussing lesson 13 from their book: Enjoy Life Forever, which makes the claim that true Christians should not get involved in Politics or Warfare, I then ask why they joined the UN in 1992, some of their sub-corporations / charities such as the European Association of Jehovah's Witnesses has worked with the political organisation OSCE for over 20 years. Then I ask why they accepted over 5 million shares in a company which makes engines for military drones, and via an independent trust, the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York accepts share dividends from Arms companies. Lastly, even the Watchtower magazine itself admits to their involvement in warfare in both World Wars, in Australia (Watchtower 1st June 1947, page 173) and in America (Zion's Watchtower 15th May 1918, page 6,257 Green reprints). I've never been a JW, I was once a Oneness Pentecostal (Apostolic) way back in the 1980s and I became a zealous Trinitarian in 1989.

My parents left and stopped serving the Watchtower but stick by Jehovah's moral standards and way of life. They are closer to their "worldly family" and their marriage has NEVER been better. They all encourage eachother to be Christ like in life and dont argue over opinions (Romans 14:1*NWT, 15:1). They are no longer under the heavy weight of authority stemming from the GB. Jesus said: "You know that in the world, rulers lord it over their subjects, and their great men make them feel the weight of authority; but it shall not be that way with you."(Mathew 20:25,26) Organized religion eventually dominates and controls- that was the old covenant way, which failed, but there is a new covenant that takes its place which includes grace and mercy. (Jer 31:31-34, repeated by Paul in Hebrews 8.) I have learned so much in reading the Bible alone. Jas 1:5 says Jah will give all those asking, wisdom, without fault finding. Vrs 6. but only in faith, not doubting or wavering or you will be tossed around like a wave in the sea. Which means we have to have loyalty to God ONLY (exclusive devotion)without dividing that loyalty with men and then we can receive Godly wisdom, which is the most valuable thing to have. Stay strong and stay balanced brothers.

Helen, Lady Cee or JT - a question to any or all of you after this statement: At the end of the interview Helen mentioned about not leaving one cult to go into another cult and earlier Lady Cee mentioned about business ventures. I've been approached by a non-JW friend involved in "Bonvera/Extroda", a network marketing/mlm type company. I researched the owner, Tim Marks, who jumped from Amway/Quixtar to Monavie in 2007, to Life International in 2011, to starting this Bonvera company in 2015. I went to a couple of the local "opportunity" meetings and after the sales pitch I notice some of the rah-rah mannerisms are very Culty, like wolf-whistling as a group to try to "encourage unity" and a "success mindset". In your honest views or experiences do you think these network marketing things are A.) Pyramid Schemes and B.) Cults in a Business-type format with all their meetings, conferences and rah-rah talk and seal clapping? And, of course, they all sell "hope" of financial freedom that may happen for the exceptions that walk onstage. I don't want to sound negative but rather am trying to be guarded, cautious, smart and wise before ever proceeding and investing in something of this nature as many MLM's come across as being quite cultlike as John Oliver's HBO show conveyed on an episode about MLM's within the last two years. Thanks in advance for any responses! Best, Dave in Wisconsin kzread.info/dash/bejne/pWqh2cmen9Cemc8.html

helpful, as it seemed so different when I went back as an adult, it seems a strange all female sorority to me at THIS juncture, women at mid life...... as a child it seems all adult male and female, couples with kids, but for the grown women it is women speaking to women. I have yet to meet anyone with any career or deep thinking. I had a great high school drama club experience and college. I feel demeaned every time I tell about who I am and what I have done as I have no children to discuss with these very traditional women even though I was "born in". The information on critical thinking has helped. Almost impossible to chat with these women (and I have been well liked and told I have a good personality all thru school and communication skills) so yeah, it is critical thinking dynamic.

And who you really are when no one is looking. 2) ACCEPTANCE: what we can and cannot change. Differences we hold are as small as just 1%. 3) SELF CONTROL: what it is and how to use it. 4) RESPECT: true meaning: to show care and concern for yourself, others and the environment. To stand for what's right. And last but not least....5 RESPONSIBILITY: who does it falls on and how to maintain it. We need to teach what self control means : •Controlling (that is, guiding or directing what we think, because thoughts lead to feelings. •Controlling what you feel, because feelings leads to action. •Controlling how you behave, because decisions leads to action which leads to rewards or consequences. Self control IS THE FORMATION OF MORAL BEHAVIOR. When you practice self control you do and carefully consider whether your thoughts and feelings will lead to actions thats are morally correct and in your best interest. P.S.C.E.P

If we were actually "conscious enough to have a conscience" 😊, we would not have been JWs in the first place. That is what being in a cult is all about, you DON'T think! Like most of us, we don't start thinking UNTIL things change. It's called an "eye-opening" moment. We were all blind to the truth. Fortunately, some people FINALLY wake up and see it for what it is, others are still sitting at the Kingdom Hall.😩 When you are in a cult, anything is possible. AND in hindsight, nothing makes sense.

The heartbreaking takeaway from this video is that in falling away from this religious organization, she appears to have abandoned God altogether. As has been my takeaway from watching many former witnesses. I am a Christian woman whose husband is a JW and he has been trying to teach me the "truth" for a whole now. I still don't accept it in my heart, but I know for certain that no matter what I think about the JW organization or the members of its congregations, I know that God is great and powerful and I will never allow an organization to keep me away from serving Him and pray the same over every former witness.

Proverb 18:13 New International Version To answer before listening-- that is folly and shame. New Living Translation Spouting off before listening to the facts is both shameful and foolish. English Standard Version If one gives an answer before he hears, it is his folly and shame. New American Standard Bible He who gives an answer before he hears, It is folly and shame to him. Let me get this straight. For all these years you led JWs to believe that you accepted the blood doctrine and other tenets of the faith while you secretly rejected it? Do you not find this less than straightforward?

  • @davidwicklin9943

    @davidwicklin9943

Katy Wendell A LOT of JW's sitting in Kingdom Halls and Conventions "lead" other JW's to believe in accepting various JW doctrines without real concrete evidence. 607 B.C.E., the "End" with the Great Tribulation and Armageddon coming in 1914, 1925, 1975, before the generation of 1914 dies off, Rutherford living as a prosperity preacher during the Great Depression at Beth Sarim and Beth Shan from 1929-1942 and rationalizing it with two 16-cylinder Cadillacs. MANY in JW congregations are "less than straightforward" because they don't desire their families to be ripped apart by extreme, severe UnScriptural Shunning. See Amanda Allan-Blair's story on losing her Mom at 32 years old to the JW blood doctrine on Alexandra James site JWVictims.Org today. That's why many secretly reject the inhumaneness of certain doctrines and behaviors. It does not resonate any longer with truth, conscience, reality, love, justice, power or wisdom in proper balance.

Katy Wendell I never believed that claim about Jesus did not die on a cross. I even avoided discussing it with bible students and other people. I stayed because I hoped they would change these beliefs like they did others

Dave, it is ironic that you call yourself "Honest Conscience." These were bona fide predictions, which is a legal term for being made 'in good faith', i.e. not intended to harm or deceive. Ditto for the other tenets, constructs, and hypotheses. All this talk about "scamming" is anti-JW propaganda evinced by those who like to play the 'victim of JW' 500 years ago, there was "concrete evidence" that the earth was flat: It LOOKED flat, FELT flat, things weren't toppling over, so it MUST BE flat! Today, everyone's bragging, "If I had lived in those days, I wouldn't have believed something stupid like that." Yeah, sure! Hindsight's always 20:20, isn't it? That having been said... why don't you tell me what's REALLY bothering you?

You speak as though this is some sort of virtual reality game through which you navigate by telling each other alternate versions of reality, and fanciful STORIES, just to keep your house of cards you're living in from collapsing in on you. WOW! I am truly, genuinely FLOORED! Look, if you guys want to wander around in La-La Land, then why don't you just go to the video store and rent a couple of John Lynch videos such as "Mulholland Drive"? Instead of going to the Kingdom Hall and singing the Kingdom melodies? Or, if you guys want to CON each other, then why don't you just hold a used car dealers' convention, have at it, and 'dole it out' to one another?!!... Instead of getting in your skirts and dresses or suits and ties and parroting back to each other how wonderful the TRUTH is?!! If your answer is "cuz we wuz hopin' they'd change their beliefs" then YOU ALL DESERVE EACH OTHER!

No one said Jehovah's Witness are bad people. They are victims of the organization. We used to be those victims and we are here to TELL OUR STORY!

"...Never against islam never against Mormon why JWs..." Actually, there are PLENTY of videos that criticize Islam and there certainly are a number of videos that criticize Mormons or Scientology and any other number of religions. So don't flatter yourself that you're being "persecuted". Your religion is simply being called out for all the harm they've done people.

The reality is that we, Jehovah's Witnesses, are very happy people because we have the active force of Jehovah :))) We love Jehovah and our neighbors :))) We preach and teach in the world, we walk, shoulder to shoulder with other brothers who received the holy spirit of Jehovah throughout the earth with the gift of Jehovah in the hands, the Bible, just as Jesus commanded at Matthew 24:14 in the mold of Acts 5:42 in order to fulfill Acts 15: 14-17. Obeying Christ, the Son, and doing the will of Jehovah, the heavenly Father, really is the greatest privilege that we can have.

Homero Signorini People who say what they are, are NOT what they say. For example, to say “we, Jehovah Witnesses are the happiest people...” when statistics PROVE they have the highest suicide rate, along with depression and anxiety bcus you’re controlled by FEAR of Armageddon. FEAR is the exact opposite of LOVE.
