DISCUSSION: Implementation of the National Health Insurance

The question we're asking tonight. Is the proposed National Health Insurance workable and sustainable, and will it really make South Africans healthy? Last week the Minister of Health, Dr. Zweli Mkhize, published the NHI bill that starts to outline a system that will allow everyone in South Africa, rich and poor, access to healthcare.
We're joined tonight by Dr. Olive Shisana who is the special advisor to President Ramaphosa from the Department of Health and Head of the NHI war-room in the Presidency, Sasha Stevenson who is the Head of the Health Rights Program at Section 27, Dr. Chris Archer who is the CEO of the SA Private Practitioners Forum representing doctors and Dr. Paula Armstrong who is a Health Economist with FTI Consulting.
