The tricks is SUCH an improvement. No more Swampcalla tax for the 5+ venom weapons is amazing on its own. Gutrippaz still not looking amazing, but maybe I'll try running some with a Sloggoth.
The Murknob is now a control piece. If you give him the +3 from the killaboss, he becomes a control 8 on a 40 millimeters base, which is great.
I agree with your thoughts on dice rolls
I don't play orks yet, but I am happy to see them get their own separate books and rules. The 3 armies in a trenchcoat was a bit weird and rip to Bone Splittaz, but happy to see the other two armies get more depth to them. Flip flopping between Iron Jawz or OBR for a second army.

The tricks are an improvement, but more work needed No roll at all (in my opinion) -- just pick the one you want to be in effect that round (AT WORST -- some tricks can't be used in certain battle rounds, but based on what I see here, I don't even think that constraint is necessary) And the other tricks need to compete with that 5+ crit --- even if it's just on infantry, that's a REALLY strong trick for a block of gutrippas or bolt boyz And potentially --- subfactions / formations / whatever, some of their special abilities are a unique trick in addition to the baseline ones Also, the range needs a minor expansion - Gnashtoof Cavalry (and/or Hobgrot cavalry) - An actual "Kommandos" style orc swamp ninja unit - A non-hero swamp monster unit In addition to maybe giving the Sloggoth the Monster keyword

I like the roll, but I wish it reset per turn rather than per round. Then they become mostly reliable, but they still have that orc-y shenanigans feel.

It should start on a 1+ so your first one is free, second one almost guaranteed and then 4+ is the max. That would definitely feel much better. But I'm still hoping we have units that allow us to improve those rolls or play around with the odds.

The tricks are crazy strong if there is no limit to it or a change to it. Then the oruks themselves need to be absolute trash or ungoodly expensive. Just because of the raw power in the tricks

@@scheikundeiscool4086 I mean Kruleboyz were mostly trash warscrolls in 3rd. So they're going to be fairly similar. But they definitely shouldn't be more expensive

Literally the Warp lighting canon does mortals on hit rolls. So as much as they've said shooting mortals are gone, not so much.

The only people who i see complain about rolling dice are players who talk about the game in competitive mindset like Heywoah wanting abilities to always be on all the time.
I'm liking what I'm seeing. There's some interesting changes that look to be syncing well with the new rules. Can't wait to see what more they present to us.
Will you be reviewing the terrible Slaanesh rules?
Wished this faction focuses had more warscroll previews. The new tricks are pretty nuts, if you pull a miracle in pull off 6-8 in a round you will be sitting pretty good.
