Ah yes, the 2nd Legion "Magnet Barons" lead by Primarch Constantine. His mastery of Polarity was considered too Heretical and the Imperial Scribes had him and his entire legion stripped from the records even though they were the Emperor's most faithful scions.

This is one of the best tutorials for every above novice painter. I've been learning the ropes for 25+yrs and learned much.
Thank you for describing the stuff that also didn't quite work with the paint schemes. A lot of painting tutorials focus on the steps and not necessarily the method of getting there, and especially for novice painters like me, describing the thought processes that lead to the choices made really helps!
Love that you made each one have a personality & envisioned their legion. The lore added in was cool too 🙂

The teabag and the dryer sheet are straight up genius
Dude! You are a freakin' Mad Scientist and a Genius! That marble floor base technique @7:20! Bro! Killin'em!
I really liked the White Scars model, which surprised me as they have always been a chapter that I've never payed that much attention to. I think some of the little details like the face markings and trampled grass made it stand out for me. Definitely the best one in this video imo. Thanks Eric.

As someone from the Gundam/Gunpla hobby, this is the first time I've seen a 40k creator use Tamiya panel liner. To many creative and underrated techniques in this video!
Awesome job, they all look great! Very cool seeing a bunch of different painting schemes in one video.
Shit I LOVE how you incorporate the essence of the Legions into the base. Putting dust because the Iron Warriors are siege experts is freaking inspired.
The comment you made about the contemptor Dreadnought being your favorite painted piece of all-time always sits with me. For some reason all of the resin characters just looks so amazing, and the paint job that green and red and black, something about it is just so striking. So besides my normal three armies I really focus on, I'm actually doing the same thing and every month I build a character and maybe a few more units, soon I'm going to have an entire shelf and hopefully it will look just as amazing as yours do. I think I'm also going to upload videos of the ones I do conversions on
Painting a member of each legion with a base that correspond to their home world, it's a brilliant idea! It really give a preview of what a specific army would look like. Love it!
Love your balance of lore, visuals, and painting dude. Looking forward to part 2!
This is a tour de force, great work! Perfect intro to the lore and so many great painting and basing tips crammed in. 👏
Absolutely brilliant job! Not only did you do a great job of showcasing the legions, all the advice and techniques you used were helpful and very well done. I can't wait for the second part and always enjoy your content.
These are amazing, can’t wait for part two!
Your tendency toward terrain building really shows in your bases, and gives an absolute ton of character to your models that I don't see anywhere else
That was great. Really enjoyed seeing all the paint schemes for the different legions. Can't wait for part 2.
GENIUS as usual. I've sure missed seeing new video's. Watched the others over and over.
At 8:24 that iconic Mk-III "Iron Armor" looks a lot like Mk-II "Crusade" Armor. Mk-III is characteristic in its heavy plating towards the front of the wearer, whereas the Mk-II has the obvious "banding" on the lower legs.

Mk3 is just an upgrade kit for Mk2.
@lazlopwent7960
Жыл бұрын
@@nostear8261 Mk-II was universal and early "void armor". Mk-III was specialized for close combat and boarding actions. That is why the heavier armor was placed towards the front or "advancing" portions of the armor. It is an evolution over the MK-II, but it was also more limited in use. The MK-IV expanded on the concept of total amor enclosure while also allowing greater movement. All Marks of armor are an evolution of the original MK-I. Some traits were seen as a detriment to overall effectiveness and were improved in later Marks. Some traits were a result of supply/manufacturing issues (MK-V). I fail to see how Mark-III is *just* an improvement kit for an earlier Mark. Visuals aside, the lore provides for a great deal of design and modifications between Marks.

Just came back for seconds. This is seriously one of the best videos out there for the Heresy. Thanks for making this video!
A lot of great accessible paint jobs here. Since Orks and Dark Angels both love checker patterns, I assume they're also huge ska fans and I hope someone in the Horus Heresy novels mentions it so that it ends up on a wiki page.
Great work on the Emperor's Children marine (and the others, but I always focus on the EC; wrote their Index Astartes back in the day, I'm sentimental). Great choice of head swap for him, and the base is chef's-kiss ideal.

Good tip I learned about the Dirty Down paints. Get them and/or the target warm using something like a hair drier. It makes whatever reaction they do even more striking.

Really really cool man. I love how you incorporated the home worlds of each faction into the base terrain. The white Scars model is my favourite. I imagine myself walking the plains with my white scar brothers, watching the tall grass dance into the wind. Before engaging the enemey in combat to defend my beloved homeworld. The stepped on grass effect looked fantastic. Special mention goes to the dark Angels. Stalking the jungles/forests of their homeland in search of heretics to slay.
