Thank you so much for this ! I visited Sri Lanka 7 years ago and went to see Bawas house in Columbo. I was so fascinated by his home and his architectural style . I am not an architect just an ordinary person who can appreciate what an extraordinary person he was . So nice to hear you speak about him with the same admiration for his work. ❤😊

Thanks for sharing this conversation. I really wonder what kind of character Bawa has. Because his designs really reflect his (extra)ordinary way of how he sees the world. I can sense a kind of holostic view which doesn't see human and nature as something separates from each other. Which means there is no division between the 'I' and the world. And his designs really speak about that moment, when you just look at the tree without the sense of division at all. It is really peaceful. Then, to define which space is indoor which space is outdoor, private, public, etc. becomes not so important.

He truly was one of a kind and it goes to show that architecture is more than the walls and ceilings; it encompasses everything there is to experience. Thank you for watching the video. "Time is the depository of meaning." - Geoffrey Bawa
