Discovering the Truth About My Identity (Part 2) - Jackie Hill Perry

Jackie Hill Perry was attracted to women before she could spell her own name. Abandoned and mistreated by every man in her life, she sought solace and comfort in women, and had her first girlfriend in middle school. As she became more committed to being a lesbian, she also began dressing and acting like a man. All along, Jackie also felt God trying to get her attention, and one night, could no longer ignore His tug on her heart.
Accepting Jesus spiraled Jackie into a complete life change, as she committed to following God, met and married her husband, and became a mom to two daughters. In this two day Focus on the Family broadcast, hear Jackie’s incredible story that proves that no one is beyond the grace and love of Jesus Christ.

I love this discussion. I was in a relationship for 15 years and my boyfriend blindsided me by saying he's moving on. I was to turn 59 yrs one month later. I was devastated. I spent 2019 under the covers filled with depression and anxiety. As i begun to see a light, the pandemic happened. Although my story is not hers, i got so much out of your discussion. I have hope. I would love to have love in my life but question how that can happen since I've never been one to actively seek a relatioship nor live the kind of life that would allow me to meet different types of people. I look forward to future discussions. Thank you

As a Christian, I identified with what she said about Xheisfians being so quick to ahove scriptures down your throat. I had a homsexual friend and when he came out, I felt didnt exactly love on him and ask him enough questions about his experience, but I cried and kind of distanced myself. When we spoke later, he admitted my reaction hurt him. I learned from my experience of being friends with him, especially with someone with that background, to love on them more. This goes for anyone that has a struggle of some sort- listen and practice empathy first. Don't just throw scriptures at folks b/c the Lord himself meets us where we're at. Then again, at the time, I guess I just didn't know how to handle that properly as I had my own issues and had never been friends with someone that came out before. You live and you learn.
