Join us for a tour of the Tokyo National Museum, home of the world’s largest collection of Japanese art and artifacts. We’ll be looking at striking samurai armor, a hand-painted kimono, mysterious artifacts from prehistory, and much more as we explore the Museum’s stunning architecture and peaceful garden.

This is a great introduction to the Tokyo National Museum. It's really worth watching before you arrive so that you get the most out of your visit.

No kidding. We went in May and they couldn`t somehow be bothered (pay the money to?) turn on the air conditioning. It was ROASTING in there. Also packed with foreign tourists not one of whom was wearing a mask. Pretty miserable experience. And this used to be my favorite museum in Tokyo.

@@Maru-vs9kb The Japanese government has been imposing economic sanctions on Japan for 30 years, and Japan is rapidly becoming a developing country. Even the director of the National Museum has criticized the Ministry of Finance.
まず1:21で紹介された甲冑は兜の姿から一目瞭然の様に、 大河ドラマを含む時代劇で非常に有名な「黒田長政所用甲冑（具足）」です。「黒田タカマサ」ではありません。 戦国史好き・甲冑好きなら誰でも間違った説明だと分かる、非常に低レベルの大間違いです。 今年が黒田清輝の没後百年に当たるとは知りませんでした。
