Today, we're embarking on a thrilling adventure as we hike the famous trail known as El Caminito del Rey! Located just 50 minutes from Malaga in Spain, this trail was once considered one of the most dangerous in the world, challenging the bravest adventurers.
With a total length of 7.7 km, El Caminito del Rey was built in 1905 in the Gaitanes gorge. Its name is a tribute to King Alfonso XIII, who walked this trail in 1921. For decades, it was feared and respected due to its challenges and dangers, resulting in the loss of life of at least eight people. However, in 2015, a major renovation of the structure guaranteed the safety of visitors, and since then there have been no more fatalities.
