The fact Red Queen is a song she dedicated to Sulli and the whole Love, Poem tour happened not long after she passed away makes the lyrics hit even hard, specially the parts she changed for the bridge like "Please don't bother the Queen no more" "Bye My Majesty" 🥲

I swear IU has the best live band in Korea. Jukjae and the gang are soooooo good. She just seems to always surround herself with great musicians and I love that. They make her live music even better than the recordings and she's definitely at the top of my list of concerts to go lately.

Recording 'Secret', the producer kept coaxing IU to sing louder and louder and she didn't know why. It was only later that she learned they had put a gospel chorus track behind her

IU's band is awesome (remember the guitarist, Juk Jae, because you'll see him again when you do those Begin Again episodes. However, the major reason the band sounds so rhymically tight is that IU is so skilled in listening to them and playing off what they are doing. Her vocal phrases are very rhythmically complex, and if she wasn't so skilled and musical, the groove of these songs wouldn't be so tight. I've had to edit vocal lines in studio for rhythmic fit, and I know how rare this skill is. Listen to Twenty Three again, and then try to sing those chorus lines at that tempo. That's a very difficult vocal line. IU and Taeyeon are my two favorite live performers (Juk Jae plays guitar for both), and it's because they are both musicians. They don't perform with a band; they are part of the band.

All the songs you saw in the concert clips IU wrote the lyrics to and composed/ co-composed some of them. 🤩 I recommend IU’s “Secret Garden” live at her love poem concert

I don't know if you ever heard "Everybody Has Secrets" and "Between The Lips" but I would definitely recommend these two songs. Actually, the whole Modern Times album is incredible, those are just my favorites, it shows a different side to IU sound in my opinion.
