They're the first idol group to write and compose their own songs, the first group to achieve international award, the first group to create light stick, the first group to bring the trend of crazy hair colors, the first group to collab with international artists (Missy Elliott, Diplo, Skrillex, Sky Fereirra, Pixie Lott).. All the trends you're seeing today mostly came from them.. and one of their rapper made trends for companies to have deep voice line (TOPis also the first underground rapper to join idol group). BigBang are a 2nd generation group, they debuted in 2006! They are considered the Kings of Kpop and are the role models of a lot of Kpop idols of the next generations. (One of Hobi role models is G-Dragon, same as JK, Jin has said that he looks up at T.O.P while Jimin at Taeyang, also you can find a lot of clips of them singing or vibing to their songs✨).

Bigbang is the foundation of K-pop boy groups, they started a lot of K-pop trends and cultures (referred in another comment), and a lot of idols looked up to them, hence, no one will deny their contribution to K-pop. I got into K-pop because of them too, then started stanning other talented groups as well. Bigbang is like the Coldplay of kpop to most of us.

Just so you know, Loser was released in 2015. Run was after. FunFact! BB is the celebrity of everyone's idols.

I love them. They are certainly not a group without controversy. Loser is around all of the feeling each of the members struggled with. The lyrics are quite sad when you know this is what they are truly feeling. FXXK It is really like just 'screw it' or 'whatever'

Bigbang is the Best when they performed Live. You can feel the energy, charisma, swag.

Kpop *MUSIC* lovers are very happy when Big Bang is back, because they know Big Bang will bring that freshness again, they are a group that creates their own market. They are loved for their work. The unique thing about kpop back then was that each group are different and had a unique color, unlike now..., where everything sounds and looks the same.

Story behing Fxxk It. They promised the fans a full album after the MADE series (where Loser and Bang Bang Bang came from). more than a year later, there was still no album. Fans started bullying the label and Bigbang to release the full MADE album. Bigbang was like, f*k it, we'll write whatever. And this is what they came up with. F**k It was realeased days before the end of 2016 but it was still the biggest song of the year in Korea.

They are the Kings of Versatility indeed. When I first got into BIGBANG, their discography constantly surprises me. Even each members' solo work. Some songs to check out: Sober (punk/rock) Bad Boy (90's R&B) We Like 2 Party (feel good) Last Dance (ballads for days) That's to name a few.

They are the Kings of Versatility!!! No one I know of comes even close. Love them. Go back a decade and their songs still sound so good, Tonight.. CAFE, and then IF YOU, Zutter, the list could go on and on.. And dont even get me started on their live shows...

Members name are (in still life) - the long haired one is g dragon,the man with bunny mask on moon is t.o.p, the one on ship is taeyang, and the one in a home is daesung. I hope it helps

Awesome, you finally delved into BIGBANG. From the first listen since you enjoyed FXXK IT the most and like "feel good" songs, I recommend checking out BLUE, BAD BOY and Cafe (this was a B-side but there're live stages). Indeed they're versatile as hell which is why they cater to a very wide audience (of all ages too). They have been dubbed as the "Kings / Emperors of Kpop" in which their legacy for the Korean Music Industry is similar to what you'd see for Michael Jackson in the pop industry (no matter how many new artists come and go, they have written history and changed the game for many). All of their released material is written by them and are based on their own experiences, however, they create it in a way in which the listeners can interpret in their own way too so it makes it relatable to many (a skill I personally find quite amazing). If you have any questions feel free to ask, anyone will be more than happy to answer.

They definitely know how to party, their live performances are probably the most lit out of all groups imo, one of if not the most iconic groups still.

Big Bang are icons! They are role models for many idols as well, Ateez Hongjoong said he's inspired by G-Dragon.

For F**k it. In Korean, ‘Era moreugettda’ means fxxk it or i don’t know ~ i don’t care. Because at the time, GD didn’t know what to name this song. Era moreugettda sounds like ‘Girl, i wanna get down’ in the chorus of this song. GD indeed a music genius. English is not my first language, i hope this makes sense

ahhhh i love bigbang.. they were the first kpop group that i loved. G-dragon was my first ever bias. Now my ult bias is hobi like you, but the way they both have a unique twang to their voices is what drew me to both of them. Isn't it a bit too late to discover BigBang? :) They've been in the entertainment for such a long time that so much has happened and Still Life is probably their swan song as a group (though they did not perform it as a group here but individually. BigBang is like the Big Brother of k-pop. The light sticks that you see so synonymous with Kpop was introduced by GDragon. Traditionally speaking, Idol groups are not respected by Hiphop (esp "underground") groups who considered them manufactured. But BigBang is a different case. Still Life (the Korean title is translated to Spring Fall Winter Summer) is I believe, a promise made to the VIPs (their longtime fans) to give a proper goodbye/closure before they each embark on their new ventures. Like the 4 seasons, they exist separately in this video and did not perform as a group. The lyrics as sung by each of the members are reflective of their emotions about themeselves and the situation they are in. The fifth member is I believe currently serving time in prison. Big Bang is the "pioneer" of hoe kpop was introduced to the intl audience, although a lot of people say BTS. BTS probably just make it even more global, although BigBang being the Big Brother of kpop already had an intl fan base way before social media was the vehicle to acquire fame if one has the talent to showcase. I think Jin, V & JHope are their hardcore fans, among many other well known celebrities in S Korea and in East/SE Asia. They generally don't give a damn to how people perceived them or fans who no longer are their fans. They just do their music. In fact, they didn;t even promote Still Life, it was quietly released. Even so, it still reached the top on Korean music charts and into billboard top 10 (if not not wrong). I'm not a hardcore kpop fan but if the groups are good, have good songs, sing well or smth unique about them that's not just cutesy image (which BigBang isn't), then I will invest some time into knowing their music. Bigbang is one such case.

In a short no one is like Bigbang vocals, writing producing songs, successful solos, going into years hiatus and still can make a cb topping all korean charts, making new records they are kings for a reason
