Hi, my RX-V367 started to behave funky when using HDMI inputs and outputs. I got black screens and the receiver would turn off sometimes. I opened it and found the very same cap that was replaced in this video was bulging so I replaced it. Now the receiver seems to be back to normal. Thanks for sharing.

I’ve changed the 3 PSU caps which showed no bulging but still just getting relay clicking twice, no display. Changed metal film cap on the standby supply. Input voltage to standby power supply is correct. On Off switch functions. Can’t think why transformer would fail. Could be standby board. Enjoyed your video and will persist with repair project. Too good for e-waste

That’s a common problem with the 2010-2016 Yamahas, it’s always the power supply caps. Once it sees the same problem 3 times in a row, it self protects.

Thanks! Sorry, but that symptom doesn't ring any bells with me. You might try taking the lid off and blowing it clean with an air can, but I don't have much hope that it will fix it - it's just something easy to try.

That's probably bad soldering at the sound processor chip. When warm enough it gets contact and sound works. Solution is either resolder the chip/circuit or using flux and heat gun heating it up enough for the solder to settle properly.

My only idea is that there may be something bad in the power supply, such as one of the capacitors. However, that's purely a guess. If you do poke around inside yours, be sure to avoid contacting the line voltage, which could be dangerous.

🫥🥱😮‍💨 5:15 minutes later... Wait, 🧐 I think I'm getting action... WE GOT ACTION!!! 🎬 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ WHAT'S GOING ON ROGER!!! A lot of videos do not cover every single step from the moment they plug it in to each wire getting put in even if you have to rotate the wires at a certain angle. At approximately 8:35 you reached my exact problem as im having but instead you erased it out of your video, jumped over it and continue it on🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ Going onto around my 12th video now, Literally!!! I give up. Thanks anyways

Nice video, but... Come on... Reuse a 2 bucks capacitor? It cost 2 bucks brand new, I think that the tube of sealant costs 10 times more... I've been using a Yamaha receiver from 2006 every day, they are built to last, it's a shame to use a refurbished capacitor that have some hours of use. As you obviously known that electrolytic capacitors are drying with time and use...

The main idea was to reuse something I had on hand to fix a nearly worthless receiver, not to lovingly restore a vintage hifi piece for future generations. (Reuse is one of the primary ideas of my channel.)

So when that capacitor fails, he will just.. replace it? Not that hard to do.
