Never had chicken in my potato soup...lol creamy potatoes smooth with only milk, celery, onion,parsley, and seasonings salt and pepper...it was a Depression style potato soup...my great grandmother handed the recipe down from then...they were lucky to have a garden with onions and herbs, grew their own potatoes too...and since they had a farm they had milk cows and that meant milk, cream, and butter...prior to the stock market crash they were rich farmers that knew how to be self sustained!

I love chopped cook bacon in my potato soup.. I don’t think I would like chicken or ground beef, but I’ve never tried it.. I cheat and use either frozen diced potatoes or simply potatoes diced.. the rest I use is onion , sautéed in the butter and chicken broth and of course milk.. I thicken my soup with instant mashed potato flakes..

Ive found i dont use shredded cheese anymore I cut into small cubes you can really taste the cheese that way ..i dont taste the cheese in casseroles just the top cheese..cud be just my taste buds but cubes work for me👍
