I remember when they salvage german u boot from ww1 from the bottom of adriatic sea,the engines inside were m.a.n f6v35,68 years at the bottom of sea,and after changing oil and filters engine started without any problems so there were not seized up,that is real deal german engineering at his best.

I am working in the production part of this MAN company in Munich, but I have a university degree in computer science and international experience in sales and importing fields of raw materials ..so I hope to talk with the HR manager in future because I can work in Middle East and Asia markets if they provide me a little training

They all started small !

I served an apprenticeship on MAN & Niigata Diesel engines (quite the combination) at one of the remotest places, enough said, truly a professional engine company, there are not many to compare.

Was on the MV Wickersham in 1974 , Alaska Inside Passage- it was leased to the state ferry system- went in engine room- it had 2 MAN diesels, 10,000 hp each. Huge and beautiful. To remove head nuts a heater rod was inserted into hollow stud which expanded lengthwise and nuts turned off w/out wrench. Man! MAN.

So, man, krupp, messerschmitt, VW, Porsche, and other Germans have made the world what it is today!!! German precision rules!

The British then migrated (not immigrated) over very long and treacherous sea voyages to build their new home. In time as the country developed NZ encouraged immigrants to arrive, the first being more British, Irish, Scots, Dutch, Western Europeans etc along with Chinese immigrants who were bought in to build the railways, during the 1960's the Pacific and Indian people immigrated. It's really only in recent decades that different immigrants from different cultures have arrived, Eastern Europeans, Middle Eastern, some North and South Americans, different Asian countries as well as a large influx of South Africans because of the post apartheid fallout. I enjoy different people and cultures as long as they are prepared to integrate into the Kiwi culture that our forefathers fought so hard to protect during both World wars and help build a strong vibrant country. Unfortunately as you would be aware there are still a minority that oppose certain immigration and the nightmare that befall ChCh last year is testomy of that.
