Yoyo gamers, the sapphire moderation bot (bot I use on my server sapph.xyz/) has an automod feature to block polls (just have it delete the poll every time it is sent). I would assume that other automod bots will follow suit until discord decides to undo their whoopsies. So if you don't like sapphire, just keep your eyes peeled on the announcement channel of your favourite moderation bot.

people can also spam normal messages, if anything normal messages are worse because people can spam 2000 or 4000 character walls of text compared to polls which have a total max character count of 850. sure it'd be convenient for there to be a permission for this but it's not the end of the world as people make it out to be, moderators already exist to handle things like this. also I'm pretty sure automod does check polls?

the polls are even worse, you can do them in DMs and groupchats there is also a way to do them in hidden voice channels and as NTTS mentioned, you can spam them and anymore can use them which hopefully changes soon

I think the custom discord ping sound is a fun idea in theory, however be wary of servers if they get raided bc I know for sure some funny guy will change it to bad words before nuking the server with pings. I suggest that an option to disable custom server ping sounds would be good, and have the ability to enable them per server. that way your personal server could have a ding sound effect while a different server you have in the background is the default one.

it's a nitro feature, not a server boost feature part of customisation: you can easier tell apart from which server the ping is from just by a different sound

(4:15) I still want to see an option to set the number of messages within slowmode. Default is 1 which is the current behaviour. But if you set it to 30 second and 2 messages, you can send a message as long as your second-to-last message wasn't within 30 seconds. This would be a mode that's more lenient and arguably better. If you want on average 1 message per 10 seconds, you can set it to 60 seconds cooldown and 6 messages.

The main thing that worries me with quests is that they could lock the cosmetic rewards behind a game someone might be literally unable to play. I don’t have a Windows PC capable of gaming. My main computer is a pretty beefy MacBook, and while it can game decently well, online game anti-cheats often ban any sort of OS compatibility work-around. There’s a non-zero chance that there could be a profile cosmetic I want that’s put in a quest I am unable to do. Hopefully they find a way to take into account that sort of thing.

As a moderator, the polls feature is useful, but the thing is, people can easily spam, and bypass words, so we have to manually punish them

Well, for desktop. And for Android If you’re on iOS you’re kinda fucked, cause if you decide to mod your iPhone you lose your Apple care warranty. Apple is very particular about gatekeeping on how they repair phones to the point a 3rd party screen can make it so your phone never turns on again :))) So it’s either mod phone to get modded discord or ignore that and just have a working phone that can be repaired by apple if something goes fucky wucky

Sifting through party finder sucks especially if you don't know if they're open to using a mic.. That’s how someone in the server got hacked, and now another person. Now, this isn’t a popular server, only around 300 members, but we think that there was a line of people that got hacked from their mutual and so on, until it got to our server. I wanna know if this is something happening in all of discord or only this server….

Polls also aren't caught by AutoMod as a "poll" (it sees the question and answers as a plaintext message), and bots can't detect if something is a poll. We literally cannot detect if something is a poll or not right now.
