Disco's Final video?

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Its time to put the Disco out to pasture! Unfortunately for what the vehicle would be worth to sell as a complete running unit, I just feel its not worth the effort and pain to fix the cross over pipe properly. If I had a hoist/lift I'd certainly get it done far easier, but like the majority of backyard mechanics thats a luxury that I don't have.
We've done around 260,000km with the disco since purchasing it way back in 2014, I've got some photos of its past travels at the end that we've accumulated along the way, so share it with me.

Sad day, well thanks for all your effort you piled into her, it was a learning and entertaining experience. I surely understand and fear one day I'll be faced with my own discos inevitability as the mileage continues to grow. These trucks definitely stand out as one of kind. Maybe another one with a good history will cross your path. I will not be unsubscribing and will continue to follow your adventures down under.

Well at least it gave you plenty of content. My 2014 Disco 4 has been very reliable but then its only done 115,000km and I only drive it on long distance trips. I did subscribe for the Disco content but I will stick around. Good luck parting it out. That would make good content in itself just to see what parts people are after.

poor old disco. Must be somebody on your channel over your way wit ha 2 post lift to get the body off and fix that cross over pipe. Mind you I need to get a full rebuild done on my transmission including a new TC so that is going to be very $$$$, I love the vehicle and there is nothing else out there that suits what I need the truck for so I keep on fixing it. I don't do off road, tow a 4m enclosed trailer and just my daily drive.

She's lived a hard life with half the time I've owned it living in the Pilbara, so plenty of kms travelled across crappy dirt roads. Its just gotten to the point where I can no longer rely on it for the travelling I like to do. Hasnt left me stranded in 10 years but its probably only a matter of time.

Body off is easy mate. Takes about 5 hours plug and play on your first go to get it off. I took mine off replaced all the stuff that needed doing in one go. Front and rear timing belt, water pump, ac pump, plus pump, rear crossover etc etc took 4 days. Not that hard nor expensive.

As a touring vehicle its been great, had a few issues along the way but its a Land Rover so not all that unexpected. It's hard to find a modern vehicle thats as capable, comfortable, quiet etc.. straight off the showroom floor - expect maybe the newer Land Rover, but I don't really feel like touching those as it appears reliability is about on par with this one, or maybe a bit worse.
