First time playing on the west side of Colorado! Montrose is about an hour southeast of Grand Junction and has a pretty awesome course. There's plenty of elevation shots that are wide open and even a section of wooded holes. With an elevation of about 5,800 feet and plenty of wind it offer's a great challenge. If your in the area it's worth making the stop!
