    38:40 If the oil leaking is clear like the hydraulic/transmission oil, then the transmission input shaft seal is leaking. If the oil is dark like used engine oil, then it's the engine crankshaft rear main seal that's leaking. Changing the seals is the easy part, but splitting the tractor to get to it, it's the hardest part, specially considering that the loader mounts may have to come out.

  • @FontedaPipaPortugueseFarmLife

    @FontedaPipaPortugueseFarmLife

    Thanks for the input! I am a little lost thinking where it could leak from, i thought same as you the rear crank seal as that is where the PTO shaft was hard to get back in and all i can think is it got pinched but the oil leaking out is hydraulic oil so it cant be that. There were no other seals we saw so i really am stumped..... you can see some of it in the video we uploaded if us fixing it. Trouble i have now is if i start to fix it i wont have a tractor if there's a fire, things always go wrong at this time of year and never when it's cooler🙄🤣

    @@FontedaPipaPortugueseFarmLife Just re-watched the video fixing the tractor. That long PTO shaft could've indeed damaged the seal. Basically, these tractors have independent PTO, which means a separate clutch just for the PTO and another one just for driving. They basically have two input shafts, one for PTO and another for driving and a 2 stage clutch. The PTO is the solid one you saw. The one for the driving part is a tube with splines at the end to engage on the clutch disc (1st stage) and the PTO shaft will run inside the tube all the way to the clutch disc (2nd stage). Somewhere between the tube and the PTO shaft, there should be a seal, can't remember it's just an O-ring or an actual seal. I suspect this is the one leaking, but since you're there you may want to replace the seal for the Tube with splines. Another thing when splitting, don't forget to wedge the front axle so it won't pivot on you left or right when splitting the tractor. As of now, doesn't look too bad of a leak and this is a time consuming job, so I agree with you and fix it later in the year, after the fire season is gone and the heat is much less. Keep monitoring the level and run it. I suspect it starts leaking more when working down hill and the oil moves all towards the front. While I never worked on that model in particular, I've worked and restored other tractors before, even built loaders and other implements. It's just something I like to do and ended up learning a lot on how these things work and are put together. I hope any of this info helps in away.

    @@pedrobatista4439 Thanks so much for your very helpful reply. I'm a mechanic but not a tractor mechanic, i did buy the New Holland workshop manual but the drawings are very basic and does not show any seals.... but i know there must be some in there. I think i must have damaged a seal in the driving clutch area as the oil is leaking from the driving clutch bell housing and we did not open that part, only the long PTO shaft that came out of there. We had some problems getting it back in, it was only the splines that did not line up (on the back of the engine), once lined up it went in smoothly but think when we first tried to put it back together the bolts holding the front and rear of tractor together became tight we stopped but think me tightening the bolts has caused the PTO shaft to crush a seal🙄 So i think this time i will have to remove the clutch bell housing to see and replace any seals in there. I think i will keep checking and filling the hydraulic oil until it is cooler, just annoying i have to do it all over again. I really appreciate your help and information, thanks!👍🍻

    Hi, Sandra. My mom's had those same tests the other month. They help ger cardiologist see how her faulty heart valve is functioning. My mom's 88 and has had a heart murmur most of her life. Doc says when she needs it, it's now a routine, non-surgical procedure to replace the valve and be discharged the same day. He's monitored her regularly for at least a half a dozen years, and her heart function still is good. Hope your follow ups will be okay 🤲🏼. Molly, the blouse you wore to CB with your mum looks so pretty on you. Thanks for showing Fred and updating us on your dad's bff Dennis 😊. Alex, as you explained how the water would be moving in one line from the natural tank up to the large tank then how it'd flow down to water the field made me think you were like an air traffic controler but with water moving around your land 😅. All my 🧠 could visualize with was a tangle of highway overpasses -- wrong image, brain! Prices for just about everything are super high these days, easily double or more from a year ago. 😔 Can you hire a friend to do your tractor jobs while you split and fix your own 🚜? The riverside field is a gorgeous. Well, if you let its grass regrow, that'd relieve of the work to clean and resow while you fix your tractor ~ maybe the universe is trying to give you a break? I hope it all works out 🤲🏼. Thanks for all your updates ❤.

    The tool behind the plow that collects grass and smooths the ground we call harrows. I think considering the adversity facing you folks, your creativity and perseverance is remarkable. However this is the reality of farmers like yourselves. You all remind me of my family when I grew up in Canada. My father was always fixing something or making something to do the job for a more expensive piece of machinery. The irrigation was enough of a challenge for my father that they sold the farm and purchased a farm in an area where irrigation wasn't needed.

    It depends how you see it, Having multiple things going wrong daily, is not being negative but simply 'how it is' ...facing many challenges that do nothing but set us back... and many i overcome alone and on very limited money. i have just split that tractor in half a month ago, a very long hard job and now looks like i might have to do it all over again, at 53 years old on my knees on a gravel driveway. IF i had the 2,000 Euros just to send it off to get fixed then maybe i would have laughed at such a problem but i dont even have 200 Eruos!. I am a realist and problems like that does not make normal people jump up and down with joy.... but do i keep going?.... yes! My families future living here is based on us getting our goats producing milk asap,.... It's that or we give up and return to the UK skint and no money to buy even a cheap house..... maybe i should just laugh at these problems and sit back and wait for the world to fix them for me? All these problems are keeping us from that happening. We live on less money than most people living out here and have done for many years since losing hundreds of thousands of Euros.... we live in three rooms in this house, no doors no floors and wonder if it will ever be finished, now my wife has heart problems as well as all her other health problems, we even struggle to pay for her pills each week. We see the off grid living in a yurt Portugal videos saying how they struggle to live on 800 Euros a month food shopping, we are lucky if we have 400 Euros a month for food, for 3 of us..... any unforeseen problem needing money to fix it will mean we go without something else.... often food! Maybe go back and watch some of our other videos, the huge fire that burned all we owned and destroyed years of work on the farm, the video of how the builder and others stole from us and left our house a mess...Our two dogs i heard being shot and the police never found their bodies..... things we are still trying to recover from, physically and mentally. It takes me 3 days every week to make these videos, that is 3 days less i get to work fully on the farm, our videos show 'our' reality of living here and it is hard work, 7 days a week for 8 years is exhausting but i still get up at 6 am every morning to fix what i can to keep moving forward. ... but your right i should be full of sunshine and smiles
