DISASTER ON DAY 2!!! - Devon Van Life Adventure - I Can’t Believe This Happened!!!
So, I had a rather eventful weekend last month. I decided to take my van out for a long weekend of adventure down at the coast. This would be my first real proper outing in it since completing the conversion at the beginning of this summer. After spending a night in North Devon and waking up early for a morning surf I decided to head down to the south coast for some spearfishing. Only an hour into the journey I head a rather unhealthy knocking noise coming from the engine and a sudden loss of power. Having spent enough time around engines I knew that this was not going to be a small problem.
I'm told the engine has started knocking and unfortunately the only real way around this is an engine replacement. It is a tough one to take on the chin when I had spent all winter getting this thing ready to go. But unfortunately bad luck just hits sometimes.
I will be looking to get this fixed soon, so if you have any advice, I would love to hear it in the comments below.

Were you near croyde? If so i was tyere around the same time in my vivaro. What was the issue in the end and how much if you dont mind me asking to get fixed

Yes I was! Good to hear it man. So my engine started knocking and the whole block had gone, I’ve just got it back and it cost around 5k which was a right pain the arse, however I did get alot of other bits done at the same time because the engine was already out the van and it made sense. All ready for a 2 month trip around Europe next year

Amazing, yes the drone shot with the building up on the road you are on is the building from grand designs. Glad you kept the van and got it fixed as you put a lot of work into it. Trip sounds 👍. Where are you based?

Currently being fixed, should be ready before Christmas, and planning a BIG trip to europe next year so stay tuned for plenty of content on that! 👊
