Sweet. The Yellow trim was similar to the S4's of the same era. This car must live! Projects to save a car like this aren't about the cost. Logic is well out the window :)

Jesus is the Messiah and Lord and Savior. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, He gave his only begotten son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life. John 14:6- I’m the way, the truth, and the light. NO ONE comes by the Father, EXCEPT though me. Romans 10:9-If you confess with your mouth and your heart that God raised him from the dead, you’ll be saved. Romans 10:13- For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. Romans 10:17- Faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ. Other verses on The Roman Road- 3:23, 5:8, and 6:23. Also, John 3 and Romans 8. John 3 is about salvation, and Romans 8 is the spirit and flesh. Then, read John, Romans, and the rest of the Gospels. Matthew, Mark, and Luke.

I owned and drove a Golf GTI for 12 years straight but was forced to sell once my second child was coming along. I was devastated to see it go (I still miss that car dearly). It was a dream car of mine forever and purchased mine new off the showroom floor. It was my baby before my “real” babies came along. My vote is to restore this thing without question. Find a set of original style rims also. They are a great looking wheel. I know they were found on the Golf R’s at the time so they’re out there. Slap a VR6 in this thing and rip it. I’d love to get another GTI someday.

I love the Mk4 body style. The 20th Anniversary GTI is a personal fave. If you can fine the correct engine (1.8) with its appropriate computer, the correct wheels, tires and brakes plus any other missing bits and bobs, it would be a great car. Even better - it’s a manual. Too bad it isn’t blue. Much better color that year. Learned to drive a stick when I was 9 or 10 in a 67 beetle! Drove a stick until just a few years ago.

The VW 1.8T 20V engines that these came with are great. Modified versions of them were even used in Formula 2 cars from 2009 to 2012 and produced 450hp in qualifying spec. The GTi Anniversary Edition also had a bit bigger turbo and produced about 30hp more than the standard GTi.

I think it looks better with the yellow stripes and different wheels, not even the factory ones. RPF1's looks very good on these cars. If you want to put it back on the road it all depends on what you got along with the car, good usable engine, turbo and other parts. If you don't have the majority of the parts then it might not be worth it because those parts are pretty expensive, my 2 cents. Good luck with it :)

Finding a transmission will likely be more difficult than an engine, both can be had without spending a fortune though I'm sure. The car would be a bit of a labor of love, but it could be a great way to start a new series and use the proceeds to help pay for parts costs. If the chassis is rust free, the value of this car will be on the rise soon.

Would definitely restore this car. I preferred the doors without the black trim but it is what it is. A rare find which deserves to be back on the road.

GTI’s are great cars and very fun to drive. I had a Mk6 GTI for many years, and now a Mk7.5 Golf R (both DSG). My R has a Unitronic Stage 1+ tune for 375bhp, so it’s a rocket 🏎️ 💨

Nice car, we love GTIs. Quick, great fuel economy and definitely worth restoring. Learned to drive on a manual transmission pre-WWII Nash we used as a farm utility vehicle. Enjoy your videos very much.

I had a 2.0 for 6 years. I loved that car, and I have great memories. I learned to drive stick when I was 14. My dad had an old Jetta mk2.

Definitely need to restore and get it back on the roads!! Those are great cars and fun to drive!! I would also take it back to full yellow and get rid of the black. I learned to drive stick on a 1995 Chevy S10.

I myself have been introduced to the tuning world by Golf Mk4 and if you take care of her, the car will thank you. One of the most tuning friendly engines out there. And with the jubi all wheel drive, you are having acceleration monster right there.
