I reckon the pipe was corroded. A leak and hence no pressure on the bellows. I’m making it up. Can’t say I thought to make such a diagnosis. There was no arcing on the contacts.

You have succesfully ruind 10 minuts of 1.5k viewers life so far.

do you think we can "repair" it by adjusting the two(even 3) screws ?

The short answer is I don't know. But the longer answer is that I think over time the thermocouple pipe corrodes and won't drive the bellows to the stat. So no amount of adjustment could correct it. You might correct me though, I am no expert. I do think that the tiny price I paid for a new stat was worth it given the constant and necessary use I get from this machine!

I can't remember, but it should be easy enough to figure out from the spec sheet.

@@bootsowen I came across this description 4-6 closed when hot, 6-3 open when off, what would it mean in a fridge ? say 4-6 turns the compressor motor on ? no idea
