Same! I'll probably never not use hops #9 because of memories, prove a better product and I might consider it on my daily carry etc but otherwise hops ain't going out of business anytime soon lol!
Sometimes I'm sad when a great short video comes to an end.
Thank YOU!! Finally cleaned AR bolt watching your video. Cotter pin would not go back all the way (firing pin) - found out I have to press downward and wiggle. Just in case anyone else is having a issue with reassembly.
You're maybe even helping a few of us out there that were in the military 30+ years ago and really needed a refresher.

Perfect on the oil job. Never to much. How things have changed. Most of the average AR owner believes to really soak the bolt down. This is perfect 👍🏻
The 3 holes are actually gas ports, and if those get clogged, you're definitely in trouble.

Excellent video. Helped me and my dad to take care of our tools. Thank you!
“You can use your firing pin... even though my drill instructors told me not to.” Idk something about the way you delivered that was pretty funny to me lol.
Great video! Simple and clear directions on how to lubricate your bolt carrier group. Good Job!

Cleaned and oiled carrier group after waching, for the first time!!!!!!! Big thanks!!
Awesome video! My son is a Marine and as you know he can disassemble and clean an AR or M4 spotless and do it blindfolded, your video is a great reference for me to use since I am not as well trained as both of you are, and you are absolutely correct that it needs to be perfectly clean and NEVER over lubricated. Thank You!
Excellent and thorough explanation. No excess nonsense or fluff. Thanks
Great video! Thanks for sharing. I got my first ar a couple months ago and really appreciate the details.
Thank you. One thing my dad told me about the bolt before putting it in the carrier is to make sure that the gap in the ends of each metal ring on the bolt are offset to prevent gas from escaping.
@Dan-di9jd
2 жыл бұрын
It doesn't matter if they are aligned or not Just a simply cycling of the gun will cause the rings to change positions. The truth is you only need one gas ring but the triple rings just more of a redundant feature to avoid any gas loss.

Good info, just pulled my mp 15 apart today. Took the carrier apart and i gotta say as a new ar owner they are pretty darned easy to field strip. Made the newb mistake of trying to re insert the bolt carrier without pulling the bolt forward. So glad i was alone at the range.

Nice, simple, succinct instruction and clear visuals. Very nicely done. Too many people that make these videos clutter it with either too much info and babbling or they don't say anything at all or are wrong. Thanks man it was a good video it helped me
Video was very well done and very helpful. I served a long time ago, and we were taught to use that CLP very generously. Their theory was blowback, action, and heat would thin whatever lubricants are in it, so you have a better chance to avoid it running dry. But i was in a long time ago and maybe things changed. I tend to still be generous with the oil but that’s just me. I just keep them clean and over oiled hope for the best hahahaha Again…. Good job on the video.

@@Thepreppersbunkeroutdoors Perhaps you are right. I spent most of my time in wet, humid climates, where rust was a factor. I can see being in hot, desert climates with little humidity like Iraq and Afghanistan, with the sand factor, could gum up an overly wet action. That does make a lot of sense.

Thanks and God bless, had a question concerning the firing pin moving when it was in place, question answered 🙏
What are the advantages of 2 sided BCGs like the one in the video vs a rounded milspec one? Can't find any info on them.
I'm curious to know if there's any possible way to reassemble the rifle or bolt carrier incorrectly and still have it function. Or is this rifle designed to not work no matter what even if you make the smallest error after reassembling.
Over the past year I've strictly been using mil-comm products and use their grease and lube in conjunction with all my firearms. Over the past 20 years I've tried practically everything and nothings been more impressive than mil-comm. It's done the best at protecting, lubrication and makes cleaning child's play. Best part is that it's a patented synthetic blend that's nontoxic, won't harm your skin, has virtually zero smell and is safe on polymer and synthetic stocks.
Great video!!!!!
Very helpful video sir. Thank you.
