What everyone needs to know is how one day they could end up in a wheelchair. Through an accident, injury or disease! My son and his lovely trash girlfriend made me feel like this all the time in my own home!!! Hope the shelters treat them as well as they treated me! People need to learn my legs may not work anymore kind of like their brain is no longer processing empathy! To all who treat others less than they should, remember life or karma will remind you at some point how wrong you were!!!

Since I was diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome, everyone around me has treated me differently, my eldest sister most of all. People treat me as if I have the mind of a child even in spite of the fact that I am a very intelligence young man who was on the honor roll in school. Because of Asperger's, I was denied all admission to another school I went to to finish my grade 12. It disgusts me to think that people with disabilities, and people like me who are 'labelled as disabled', are not treated with respect as human beings, seen as less than 'normal' people, or even as less than human! Seriously, why do so many people look down on those types of people? What did they ever do to deserve it?

I am disabled, thanks to a back injury. However my legs do function for short periods of maybe 5min worth of standing. So there are times I am seen using my legs, such as when I need to retrieve my electric wheelchair or re-load it to my car. Where I am also parked in a handicap spot. So I frequently get glaring looks or snotty attitudes towards me.

People just don’t have the imagination to realise that people can have SOME function in their legs, but not enough to be fully mobile - like you. They think only people who are 100% paralysed can use wheelchairs… and even then, they’re probably just faking it for the parking space, right? People just suck sometimes. 😢

The hotel staff is horrible! I have a friend in a wheelchair and she is a sweetheart. It kills me to see people who are in wheelchairs and have disabilities get treated like this. They are human just like anyone else. The hotel staff got what they deserved, especially the owner who locked the cute wheelchair guy in the closet. When I was in high-school and jr high I was a peer tutor and loved it. If I heard anyone being mean to someone who had a disabilitie, I stood up for the disabled person. The teachers thanked me and I still stand up for innocent people.

They all should go to prison. The ADA stuff aside, the closet thing alone is False Imprisonment, a big time felony with a possible sentence of 10-15 years in prison. Owner, peon and manager should all go. Owner for doing it, peons for helping and/or accessory before/after the fact. The bus personnel could likely go too for knowing and doing nothing making them just as guilty or face lesser charges. Many would likely turn as witnesses for the prosecution with immunity and get out of Dodge ASAP.

Years ago at a state fair, a WW II veteran was in a wheelchair at the base of a ramp. It didn't have the power for the incline. As it was veteran's appreciation day, we were everywhere. As he stayed in the chair, each grabbed a wheel and up he went with little effort. It was in a circus tent. The staff stopped the show and threw the spotlight on us. The entire place erupted with respect. Drinks and popcorn were "on the house" during the show. This crap don't happen around military bases.

Since a brain tumour in 2012, I'm now disabled - when staying in Hotels I need to be sure they have Lifts (my Island is small so not all have) and that our room has a shower rather than a bath. Any Hotel that treats ANY guest badly should get a review accordingly.
