Frontiers Music Srl is pleased to announce Dirty Shirley, a new band project featuring guitarist George Lynch (The End Machine, KXM, Lynch Mob, ex-Dokken) and vocalist/keyboardist Dino Jelusick (Animal Drive, Trans-Siberian Orchestra).
Croatian singer Dino Jelusick, over the course of just one album and one covers EP released with his band Animal Drive, has started to make quite the name for himself in the hard rock and metal scene. More than a few musicians of note have called up Dino to see if he might be interested in collaborating, which he is floored by. This talented young singer has an appreciation and deep respect for the musical heroes who preceded and profoundly influenced him. So, when George Lynch opened the doors to the idea of writing and producing a record together, Dino was more than intrigued. Frontiers, known for releasing interesting collaborations of this nature, was more than happy to be the label home for this project.
The resulting album and band, Dirty Shirley - named after one of the first songs they wrote together - covers a wide spectrum of styles. Classic metal to more “traditional” Lynch Mob oriented sounds and even some hints of the first Badlands album are in the mix. Showcasing a stunning performance from George Lynch - a seemingly bottomless pit of inspired and creative guitar playing - and an absolutely over the top lead vocal performance from Dino, Dirty Shirley is going to be an easy 'must listen' for the hard rock and metal crowd. Evanescence drummer, Will Hunt rounds out the line-up.
Dino says, "This record was done differently from everything else I did so far. George jammed and sent me rough versions and I tried a thousand melodies and lyrics on it. It turned out fantastic and very versatile. From r&b and rock ballads to some very heavy tunes, bluesy stuff, hard rock, rock 'n' roll, grungy vibes... everything. Will was the perfect drummer for this, loud and groovy. I recorded vocals while being on tour with TSO in the bus, every evening when we had a day off. And finished it in Croatia. You gotta listen to the whole album to get the impression of it, not only singles. But the first single will surely kick your ass, so better be prepared!”
George adds, "At its core, this record is built on classic guitar riffage and grooves, but is also infused with eclectic tendencies scattered about that are unexpected and challenging. 80% of the guitar work on this record is rhythms, so I wanted to create a three-dimensional sonic tapestry that complimented the more basic riffs and chords. I tried to add a little twist to everything." He continues, "It was funny because when the label approached me about pairing up with Dino, for some reason I got the impression he was an Italian pop singer. LOL. So I wrote some songs in that vein, haha. ; ) Then when I heard what he was actually all about, I had to duck back into the laboratory and reinvent the wheel. If Ronnie James Dio and young Coverdale had a baby boy, his name would be Dino."

You're right. I'm going through the recommended list of KZread recently. It's filled with the most hideous shit I have ever listened too. Most of them not only sounds the same, it also is totally overproduced, teenie whiney crap, soulless and only for fast cash grab. I seriously don't know how that shit gets up to 22 Million views, either they have really really stupid fans, or they have helped out with false clicks

Dino, ti si trenutno svjetski najpoznatiji metalac iz Hrvatske. I ponosimo se tobom. Imaš bogom dan glas i odlično ga koristiš. Osjećam kao da si ti uz Dia i Coverdalea i Dickiensonov nasljednik, u pjevačkom i ljudskom smislu. Ali najdraže mi je što si svoj... i ostani takav. ... KRALJ ne dolazi. Kralj je DOŠAO.
I also couldn't get rid of the feeling that this is a boosted version of Dio in his best incarnation, but next couple minutes convinced me that this is something new what never happened to rock and metal in last couple decades. Respect!

Guitar Master George Lynch (one of my favorite guitarists ever) with a great band.Dino is an absolutely fantastic vocalist...incredible stuff!

Took me a minute. Loved the Riff off the go, I liked it more and more as it went on. I like it. Kid can sing. Heavy for recent George. I like it.
Unbelievably great singer, song and GL is a class of his own whether he spews flurries of shred fire or summons 70's blackmore-esque ghosts as he does here
Dino is a beast of a vocalist and could be one of the best front man in rock and Metal.
Finally a badass voice that compliments George"s kick ass guitar work!...........Dio would be proud! I just hope the rest of the album is as kick ass as this song and production.

George proves that it is about having soul and emotion in his solos. It is not only about speed. Dino has a great unique soulful voice. Can't wait to hear more music from them!

Never heard of this band until today, when a truck driver and I were talking music after I finished loading his trailer, and he mentioned that this band was good. Didn't know George Lynch was involved until I Googled the band. Listening to the video, and am definitely liking what I'm hearing.

Dino you are by far the best singer currently out there. This release is amazing and I purchased it the day it was released. You are able to cover any style.
Those who dislikes the song ... they are and they will never be real heavy metal listeners ... it's a quality music which is rare these days ... George never disappoints he always comes with surprises ... 🤘🤘🤘Yep, he can cover Dio very, very well!!! Dino has the best classic metal voice I've heard since RJD. This young mans range, vibrato and rasp is incredible!!! I'd love for him to put out a Dio tribute album. Also, his cover of Jefferson Starship "Jane" is absolutely phenomenal!
