One of my favourite pastimes on KZread is to watch other musicians react to Dirty Loops. What’s unique about them is that they essentially do straight up pop songs that speak to non-musicians. Pop songs which they ”loopify”, eg. put through the ringer of their vast musical knowledge and abilities as players. They’re really doing us an educational service, if you think about it. Because casual listeners still love their songs, but they also get exposed to things they’re not normally exposed to. (Which is sorely needed in today’s pop, consisting of the simplest cut-and-pasted chords). The second thing that stands out to me is how insanely good their recordings sound. It seems one of their friends do all the mixes for them, but man does that guy know what he’s doing. Just listen to the drums on this one. How often do you hear acoustic drums sound this good? Their arrangements are rich and dense, but you can still hear everything clearly. I’m kind of lost for words, really.

So, we, the Wilburn Army, should set ourselves to arranging somehow a one-night show featuring Dirty Loops and Snarky Puppy, together, and make sure Chod and Dee witness it. At the end, it will be up to Dee to revive Chod, who will be on the floor, quivering, in the fetal position with an unremovable grin across his face and a look of searing bliss in his eyes.

First off, she's super beautiful. The way she said "what?" when you said the title cracked me up. It's one thing to be able to make something like this in the first place. But they're on some whole other beast stuff for memorizing it all for the video. First time I heard this song/saw the video, I thought it was all live. I was shocked to find that it wasn't. Like you said repeatedly, they're just too good.

Amazed to see you doing back to back Dirty Loops reactions. Take your time and savor the greatness. Since this song highlighted Aaron's drumming wizardry, maybe you would like to see a song featuring Hendrick the bass monster. "World on Fire" is a good choice but really all of their songs bring that level of musical amazement. Keep them coming. I'm so glad your wife enjoyed them too. Bring her along on your journey down the DL rabbit hole.

Yes, they blow you away, for real…… Thanks for both of you to come and give this Sh!t it’s respect 🙏🙏 Like she said, it’s art, and immaculate is not too strong a word either, I reckon ☺️ Pretty sure you’ll come back to this piece and listen to it all the way through, in one go, with headphones on. Enjoy 🔥 Henrik’s bass sound is to die for, Aron’s drum solo and sound as well, and Jonah with his keys solo, his riffs and his angels voice… And the writing and arranging? Epic and so good! “World on Fire” and “Rock You” from the same album are epic too -everything they do is epic… Listening to them play is like: I’m outta here, never want to touch my instrument again, how can I call myself a musician in the face of these skillz?! But then I know that those three guys practiced their chops endlessly. Henrik and Aron are said to have stayed on in their music Con school after hours most days and just practiced pocket for hours, nothing but locking in together. They are the tightest drum n bass team on earth, for sure. Looking forward to that Dirty Loops journey together and to more reactions! 👍🙏👍

Three boys från Stockholm, Sweden met in highschool., started playing together, went on to study music at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm. Aaron (drummer) and Henrik (bass) chose the rock dept. and Jonah (keyboard, vocals) studied classical piano. They started putting out covers on their youtube channel 10 years ago, Quincy picked them up and sent them on an Asian tour with David Foster back in 2015 and signed them. Voilá! I envy the fun and amazement you have ahead of you! Great reaction! New subscriber here!

I was wondering about their background cause they play at an insane level. Makes sense that they got together back in highschool as musicians, all decided on going to the same college to study music & went on from there. Sounds to me like they came up with a general game plan back in highschool, put in the work, time & effort to achieve it cause it shows. Glad they're finally getting noticed

WILBURN, AFTER ALL OF THE MUSIC YOU HAVE BEEN LISTENING TO AS OF LATE YOU SHOULD KNOW WHAT THESE GUYS ARE!!! These are guys that were raised on Cobham, RTF, Weather Report and Jonah's solo is ala Herbie Hancock for sure. They were musical prodigy's in Sweden and I actually had the honor of seeing them do a showcase here in L.A. and they were doing covers at the time and as good as these videos are they are believe me when I tell you they are just as good live!!!! The quality of the sound is due to Quincey Jones producing them once he heard Jonah sing and noticed the similarity between him and Stevie Wonder and especially Michael Jackson. You need to hear them with Cory Wong or the song Follow the Light you will be astounded
