The yellow arrow means foot path only. Even with permission to ride on the rest of the land you still can't legally ride on the strip legally designated as the foot path only. Public rights of way are controlled by the council. No land owner can give you permission to use them outside of their designs, regardless of what they say. The only expectations are emergancy services or to carry out needed maintenance of the foot path. You are neither. That woman had every right to be mad at you. You were committing an offence by being on a public foot path no legal different than mounting the curb and riding on foot paths in town.

You seem like you run into a lot of cranky people. I only had that happen a few times personally. My favorite when I was about 16 years ago when I was in highschool. The principal/headmaster whatever you want to call him of a very very expensive and exclusive boarding school (25 grand per year per kid) came walking down in the woods where me and a few friends were riding. He starts telling us about how we're on private property (to be fair, we had no permission to be there, however I know for a fact we were on property that belongs to SEPTA (the mass transit train/bus company) because it was fenced off, which means HE was also trespassing to come give us shit for riding there. Then he says he's going to call the cops because we're disturbing the schools horses. We basically said "fuck off" and he said he was going to keep us there... And my buddy said "you can try" lol. And we all started our bikes and took off in different directions... My one buddy plastered him with dirt and gravel. It was pretty great. It's obviously more of a "had to be there moment" but I still laugh about it. We took to actually tearing around on the schools massive property after that just to piss him off.

As for the Sheep it's better that they hear a noise that makes them move than not. When electric bikes are more affordable the dog walkers wont moan as much but the sheep will as they won't hear them coming to scatter pout the way ! #wewereallyoungonce

aaron todd If it's a 50cc bike, you can ride them with just a CBT. I think KTM do sell a road legal 50cc MX bike.

Trevor Matthews your not in the best spot in the uk for ridding like i live in the north east i rider mx so kts not 2 bad for me but enduro is hard to find apart from down south were there are loads of event in enduro what do u ride because if its enduro or trials uour gonna have 2 travel as i have p farm and things like that

There's a fair bit of a difference between riding through some sheep and spooking them for a few seconds and a dog persistently chasing and possibly attacking/maiming/killing them.

Some of the best riding is places your “not allowed” I ride where ever looks Suitable n isn’t busy. As long you respect those around you ie horses , walkers etc n stop to let them pass I don’t see what the problem is. All these do gooders need to get a grip it’s not their land or pocket they need to jog on. Footpaths etc. It’s all public rights of way Have fun !!
