You either love or hate JYP but damn I love him! His songs are over the top but his energy is unmeasured. The man is total chaos but man he can sing (not every performance is good though) and he has moves. I check out every song he drops and bop to it, not always playlist worthy but the world would be a dull place without people like JYP...

You should probably watch the MV for JYP's song, "Who's Your Mama?" It's absolutely iconic, and there's a lot of references to it in Kpop songs. But it's the JYP vibe with all the knobs on 11. Because you get the joke, I think you'll like it. JYP is a very serious entertainment company executive, but he has a "lead from the front" philosophy. He was singing live here without autotune, which is important for him as a leader. He won't ask his artists to do anything on stage he would not, or could not, do. So he stays in shape, diets, and practices choreo with them. He also encourages his artists to speak openly to him. It makes JYP Entertainment different from the other major companies.

They sing live but for such a large venue I think they are using a backing track to sing with.

JYP like PSY can sing, dance and perfom like *demons* ~ so much talent. I'm pretty sure that "yes" they are playing into their public persona BIG TIME lol. May not be everyone's cup of tea but *damn* kodus to their talent!! Mixed with Mamamoo's mindbusting multi talents, it's a win-win in my books. Great observations and chuckles Roscoe 😁🤭😎

Always tricky the live question. For me a general rule is head set microphones, mean mime or singing a long with track. Even Mamamoo, as in the case were singing along with track, for Hip. Hand held mic's generally singing live, particularly with Mamamoo.

There's a lot to say about JYP, but the dude gets a lot of attention. From his own artists clowning him to the way he treats people in the company. I know many people don't agree, but that dude tells them to be devoted to their careers but also encourages them with reviews of whatever he think would make people better. I don't think he is a feared boss at all. I (as many stays do) hold some grudge over the straykids survival show, but he pushed them just enough for them not to break, but for them to improve.

He is not tall at all, he is a normal size 1.80m guy. Mamamoo, which is made up of really short girls, talking about height is a delicate subject for them. So delicate that they made a song about.... Taller Than You (1cm). It would be a good reaction, it's super funny.

I always feel that Solar swatting him balances out the shake your booty part. Their performance of Hip here won the award for best performance at the award show. There is also a clip of Hwasa covering a Dua Lupa song to introduce Dua Lupa and Hwasa's performance is honestly better than the performance she introduces.

Jyp has done some questionable things over the years, i think not that i know him well, alot of it is to simply gain attention. He has founded a successful company and helped debut and write songs for groups within his company and others

A lot of people are not a fan of his management style and decisions (Stays are still pissed he almost let Freckles get away and other groups are none to happy with his decisions regarding their fav groups too). And yes I think he does play into the role. You do have to give it to him though, he can still get up and do. And he is running a music empire.

The one group in his company that we will probably never see him do a stage with is SKZ 😂

No hate to the back up dancers but I feel like they were super overworked and out of sync this whole awards show. Quite a lot of the performaces just didn't look clean to me. Just a shame for such a bit show like MAMA
