Of all the genius things I understood in maths class, proportionality was one I somehow never fully grasped. Now I'm just assumed to understand it in my university astronomy class. This video finally helped me get it. Thank you!

Thanks, it helped me understand the test a lot, without you i wouldnt have got a sufficient mark, thank you again!
i don't know why this always confuses me.. but this helped so much! thank you!

What a time to be alive. Hated math my whole life, and now open to it because of a career change. Thanks for this.
You explained it better than my teacher
You helped me a lot The only problem in world I don’t understand till now in my life Now I understand Thanks a lot 😊
Yes, I have made a few videos on inequalities. Go to my Intermediate Algebra Playlist and you will find that lessons 46 - 54 are all about inequalities. I hope that helps you out. :)

Wow, thank you! This video helped a lot.
Hi, may I ask for directly proportional is it possible to have a negative slope where k is negative?
Sir you are amazing, you saved me a hole lot of time and helped me verymuch
this rly helped me but im stll stoopid
This really helped Allot! Thanks I couldn't understand in our Math book so I ended up searching this on YT and ur vid popped up.. Again thanks!
this is still difficult to grasp with all this mathematical jargon talk. could you please use more fun relatable analogies with visual imagery? we are humans and visual stimulation goes a long way and it would help a lot more people having difficulty understand this stuff or even have an interest in learning it. it's just a thought and thank you for your work.

This really help! Thank you so much "-"
i have a question : I have a lot question related to formulas where they ask that if a value on the right is doubled the left value will be _______??? something like that . our teachers just taught us to cram . as high school student i still dont know about it .

Can K be negative and we still have a direct proportionality? But a negative gradient ?
my whole class was confused but u solved it
Thanks! This was so helpful.
this is gonna save my assessment tomorrow :)
'multiply the left and right side' proceeds to divide the right side
Great video, but i have a question. If there was a word problem that says: if 3 men can load a lorry of goods in 2 h., how long will it take a) 6 men b) 5 men c) 2 men, to load the lorry of goods if they work at the same rate?" How do i solve this? If you could help me that would be great! Thanx again for the awesome video! :)
It was very helpful , thank you
Thank you........! Eish Wiskunde is baie maklik met jou help!
if v is directly proportional to i, then is i directly proportional to v??

Thanks!
Amazing! It's really helpful^^
Thanks, great help.

Thanks man Have a good one
Thank you so much ❤
It helped me so much thank you
this so helpful i did a math problem and succeeded
It is somewhat confusing for me that I have to pause for some second to grasp what paul explained but nonetheless it is very educational(I needed help with inverse propotional)
i never understood this one, now i do, thanks
what is . showing (2'.'2)
is kf = y kinda like f(x)
very helpful, thank you
so what if the letters were not x and y ?would you still use the formula y=kx?
@danielbaldegger451
8 жыл бұрын
+Seleen Mcmillan Yes. x and y can be anything. So if you said x + 2 = 4 you would know x is 2. You could also say y + 2 = 4 or m + 2 = 4. The letters just represent a number. Hope that helps.
This totally saved me! Thanks!

thanks for the help mate
I understood everything. At 4:14 you say to multiply each side by 3. But only the left side (3x6) was multiplied by 3 and the right (k/3 )was divided by 3? which cancels out 3 and leaves you with K.

+Joseph Hernandez It was simply misworded. k/3 is multiplied by 3, or 3/1. He meant the threes cancel each other out since one is a numerator and the other is a denominator. Like, if the equation was 1/3 times 3/1, where the answer is 1, you can do the maths with your fingers or simply cancel out the opposing threes to make 1/1. In this case, k/3 times 3/1 equals k/1.
Thank you.
Thank you! 🙏
Thank you so much I have a exam in this lesson and I don't understand the lesson in the school 🙂🙂

I just wanna know that why you put 3 ??
I remember learning this in grade 7 i was 11 by the way, as a 19 year old i still dont understand how i understood this
Thanks✨
Thank you so much I was stuck at this problem for so long.
I just understand the inverse proportion but the directly proportion here is not the same as our teacher told us and when I do it this method it is not the same uh
thanks man
I have homework on this and they haven’t even taught it us all of my maths homework since I started year 7 they haven’t taught us any and if we don’t do it we get punished when we don’t even know what to do and they don’t give us any help

Ellie Hayward y/x = 12/3 Simplify 12/3, the answer is four y/x = 4 Take X to the other side, so it will be multiplied by 4. y= 4x

"Not that hard mate." - Really? Why would you bother saying that. Why does it seem like so many people on social media are trying to one up someone in comments. I was watching something, and recognized the voice from videos I watched more than a year ago, and curiously asked the question... because it was interesting... mate.

"it's only simply pointing out that it's on his channel..." Yeah, that's what point of the first part of the comment was.. and notably, I didn't say anything about that..
is it safe to assume when having problems like these that: Directly proportional: k = y/x Inversely proportional: k = y * x or is it more complex than that?
