You guys have to listen to Industrial Disease by Dire Straits. It's my favourite song by them. Quirky lyrics. It's a fun tune but at the same time making pertinent social commentary. George and Patrick, please do a bunch of reactions to Supertramp, my favourite group. They had five consecutive classic albums, in my opinion, from Crime of the Century through to Famous Last Words, but try anything off their best album, Crime of the Century (especially School and Bloody Well Right) and anything off their most popular album, Breakfast In America.

I believe you are mistaken. As someone who lived through Rock's golden years from the 50s through to today, and have heard nearly everything there is in this genre, I can tell you this performance IS the greatest performance in history. Mark Knoffler's guitar skills are beyond incredible and so is Terry Williams, the drummer. They are both virtuosos, It's hard to believe that Mark is a self taught guitarist who created his unique fingerpicking style and never learned to read music.

The reason my generation have bands that are still around 40 and 50 years later is because they made the best freaking music ever. We have so many mystical magical musical treasures that you young folks have yet to discover. Do a deep dive into the seventies especially and you will find riches beyond your imagination. Great show boys. Keep up the good work❤

The 70s was my favourite decade music wise, but there was some good stuff in the 50s 60s and the 80s. Something went wrong with the music industry during the 90s, where everything flipped. We now get the crap rising to the top. One has to dig deep to find raw talent.

To see him become a huge fan of MK and consider that his offspring had good taste was great. We then saw Dire Straits twice a few years later in Paris in 91 and 92. My Dire Straits story... It was my second year at college in Boston, week of midterms, Tuesday or Wednesday I believe, 6:30 PM... A friend of two of my roommates comes in and says he has won 2 tickets via a radio DJ to tonight's Brothers in Arms tour show (1986) at the Boston Garden and he can't find anyone to go with him because of midterms. The concert starts in about an hour and a half and these two guys both say no he looks at me and says would you want to go? I respond in a heartbeat yes even though I had two midterms the next day... we picked up the tickets at the door... I couldn't believe it they were sixth row Center on the floor I've never been so close to a major rock and roll band for such a long time, it was absolutely unforgettable. Folks didn't want to leave they came back out for a second Encore song, it was really a very well-done show I didn't do all that well on those two midterms but it was worth it.

@@dopiaza2006 His beginning of "money for nothing" and the whole song of "walk of life" was kept in, but the rest was redone with jazz session drummer Omar Hakim, but Terry Williams did all touring for the album and wasn't pissed off, he understood Mark wanted a different sound on the album and Terry was always more of a live drummer, he liked to embellish a bit and Mark got frustrated he wouldn't just play it simple for the album. As I said Terry didn't mind, he still got paid in full.

I'm an old man . I am so fortunate to have seen them live twice . Their self named debut album is so pure from start to finish . Everyone says Eric Clapton is the greatest guitarist of all time , Jimi Hendrix , sure . But Mark Knoppfler is never in the conversation . Their live concerts were unbelieveable . The 'Telegraph Road' tour and 'Brother's in Arms' tour shows were so epic . I walked out of the concerts a foot off the ground . His guitar work seems so effortless and he makes a sound so recognizable . I'm so happy they're getting credit in this day and age . It's truly timeless . Glad you all are listening to it . Mark wrote all the music and songs too . His solo work is also incredible . Watch the 'Money For Nothing' with Phil Collins , Sting and Eric Clapton ( yes , he does rhythm ) . So sweet .

I am beyond jealous. That sounds mean, but I wish so badly to have been alive and able to go to concerts when Mark Knopfler and Dire Straits were in their prime. Actually, most bands and artists of the 60's and 70's would've been great to see, too. No autotune. Just pure talent. Knopfler is the cleanest and most awe-inspiring guitarist. The fact that he makes it look simple makes it that much better. The rest of the band is on their A game, too. Dire Straits came to win that night. I believe that you can recognize who really pays attention to and values music and its individual parts (vocals, guitar, bass, drums, etc.) when they bring Knopfler into the conversation for greatest guitarist of all time. His solos in this song are so phenomenal it makes me smile every time that I hear them. Punchline: you are right.

This is, in my opinion, the greatest live performance ever!! FYI, Knopfler is writer, lead singer and lead guitarist on all of their songs. He plays the guitar without a pick. He is a genius. The drummer here is Terry Williams and his is also one of the greatest all time performances. Your reaction is spot on!!!
