That’s nice …..try and catch the sky documentary where Brian Johnson from Ac/DC meets music legends - the one where he meets mark is fantastic , mark seems such a genuinely grounded and humble man, it’s well worth watching if you can

Wow. I forgot this song and suddenly I got a feeling inside of me in a time and place in the 80s. Strange how music can catch you like that.

When I was in the military service (1986-1988) I've listened this song for 10 times per day. I was a close friend with the DJ of the barracks. We had a choice between the music from the only state radio station at the time where there were only news about the great achievements of communism and patriotic music, and some tapes brought by some of us. The choice was very simple and natural - the few tapes were listened and re-listened to dozens and hundreds of times. 😊

I distinctly remember my childhood babysitter playing Dire Straits while I was in the car. I wasn't into music for a long time and when I started exploring and found this band and I was like "Hey, I remember this!"

Back in the 80s had a long-distance "affair" with a married woman from St. Louis.... I lived in Colorado Springs....We both worked for Chrysler corporate and met at a one-week training event in Sacramento...4 nights of heaven in a hotel room on the company's dime---- on the last night, rented a car and drove to 'Frisco and spent the night on the beach close to the Golden Gate bridge...the "relationship" lasted another year despite the fact that we never met in person again... the long intimate phone calls kept our "love" alive... until they didn't.....this was "our song"...Good night, Chris Milburn wherever you are.

35th anniversary of the release of a classic rock album: 13th May 1985: the fifth studio album by British rock band Dire Straits. Has sold more than 30 million copies worldwide. To me Mark Konpfler is a quintessential example of someone who won't win any singing competition, yet could write, play guitar and deliver astoundingly beautiful songs. Mmm.. I was once on a journey in a foreign land.. and my girl was in a distant place on her own journey.. and I missed her so much. At that time the riff from this song started playing in my head.. and it took some time before I found out that it was actually from this song, because I couldn't really remember ever hearing it before. That puzzled me, but also gave me the feeling that this song really embodies the emotions that the song is about.

In my opinion Mark has one of the top voices of rock n roll period. Its different and the fact he wrote these song is just amazing. What an absolute talent it's a shame he walked away so young but hey we were left with great masterpieces that will live forever!

E da ne znas mozda neki sajt sem Radija S gde se pustaju EX-YU hitovi a da nema dzinglova, reklama itd? The song is so mesmerizing, it really just takes me back in time it reminds me of all the important people in my life who I once really cared about! I'm an electronic musician who happens to love Dire Straits. But I will admit, I LOVE seeing a balls to the wall rock band with a collection of badassed synths like the Yamaha DX7 and Emulator 2.
