Probably my favourite Dire Straits song! love it. 2021 and it's amazing that you still can't beat the sound of Vinyl.

@@feliscorax You are right. I do not hear all 3000 LPs. There are some I do not more like to hear any more, but they belong to my collection. I have a separately room for my LPs and my stereo system. In this room is only one sofa and my music.

Can't beat the sound of Vinyl

Unless my memory fails me, the irony here is that this was one of, if not the first, CDs ever to be sold. Sounds good on CD, but sounds REAL on vinyl... Thank you so much for sharing! 🙂👍🙏

Can´t beat the close to live sound of vinyl, no digital files will give you that ever. So i totally agrre with your statement. AAD cd:s will get you the closest though, but DDD CD:s is the worst. AAD is Analog Analog to Digital master, and DDD ofcourse Digital all the way. Also mastering from 1995 and and up is way crappier than before the 1995 Era.... And to get a somewhat softer/truer sound from a CD player you`ll need atleast a 16bit or better 32bit sounddecoder and those players will cost a pretty penny. it´s like comparing droplets of water falling of same total volume, 8 bits will get splashy big droplets 16 bit half the size droplets and softer 32 bit half the size of 16 bit and much softer. Sry for just assuming you didn´t know this allready.... You might even beway better than me on this topic, but anyway, Long live Vinyl.

I'm so sorry to hear that. I can't imagine myself in that position. I work as a nurse at an institution disabled people in Sweden. Almost all of my colleagues tested positive for covid-19. Fortunately all are well now and survived. But I know peope with less strong immune systems who didn't make it and unfortunately isn't with us anymore. If anyone reads this, please stay at home and spare the hospital beds fore the elderly, sick and disabled. Ones again I'm truly sorry for your loss and I wish you well. My intentions was not to compare my situation to yours.

God, man. I've got a gorgeous tube amplifier with a custom built set of Total Recoil speaker that use klipsch heritage 2 components. And a set of large 12 inch imf woofers. I've never heard these speakers come to life like with the song. Thank you dude.

IMHO, vinyl still has that certain "je ne sais quio" (French term, meaning hard to describe), and on a good setup, is really hard to beat. After resisting for a while, I finally broke down and bought the MoFi One-Step version of Yes`s "Fragile" LP (45 RPM, 2 LP box set). Yeah, it was a lot of dough, but every time I listen to it, I consider it money well-spent....the SQ is absolutely mind-boggling....(playback on Pioneer PL-707 w/Ortofon 2M Blue cart)
