Love the idea of being kind to haters. I have found this works well at work. When someone barks orders or makes demands, I turn up the sweetness to counteract their sourness. Most times they notice and open up, like "my boss just chewed me out because he asked for those figures last week and I forgot. Thanks for putting a rush on that report!". Makes me feel better when their sour mood changes. 😊

I have made several different dip colors in the last week using glitter and mica powder with white, gray, and black dip powder. My finances being what they are, buying all the colors that I want is not something I can do, but I have a ton of mica powder because I do a lot of beauty products and resin stuff. So, I bought the cheapest starter kit I could find that had those neutral colors and have made 9 or 10 different colors out of those. Anyway, it’s nice to see someone else doing it too. I’ve watched 5 or 6 of your videos in the last couple of days, and I have enjoyed them tremendously. Yours is the kind of youtube channel I could see myself having someday. Thanks for all the work you do.

Lol when I do my voice over is I literally pretend that my subscribers are on the other end of my phone and they are listening to me talk at that moment we're engaging all that fun stuff LOL I pretend they're right there! I love that you do the same thing 🥰 Ambassadorships are definitely a tough thing to get familiar with. I just had a pretty bad experience with an ambassadorship because I was new and I got way too excited and I jumped the gun, BUT I learned a lot from that interaction and experience and now I know what I look for in an ambassadorship and I know that my TIME is worth something and no one is allowed to make me feel that it's not. So so pretty and thanks for showing how you make your own dip powder. I just bought a bunch of nail stuff from iGel..... 6 different colors of their glow/non glow PolyGels, nail stickers, designer nail gems (Chanel & LV), jewelry gel. I can’t wait to try their PolyGels. I believe you said you’re going to be doing a video on them soon. I think you’ll like them because everyone says they aren’t sticky like other PolyGels. I want to compare them with Gelish which is my favorite PolyGel. It is a little sticky, but I love the thickness of it. It’s easier to work with. Anyway, when will that video be shown? I can’t wait!!

Thanks for this video. Looking forward to future videos in this series! I recently approached two of my favorite companies to ask if they were looking for another ambassador/ influencer and I got the polite "love your work but not looking to add anyone to our team right now." Kind of disappointing, but I'm sure there will be a lot more "nos" before finally getting a yes. Was inspired after seeing a Young Nails video on this topic basically saying you'll have to reach out to the company *most* of the time, not wait for them to come to you.

I would probably use chunky with some fins glitter (to fill in the gaps) and clear dip. Maybe 1/4 chunky, 1/4 fine, 1/2 clear.

I've been trying to do my own. I use CN Design clear and a combination of different glitters. I use half of each and I don't like any of them. I see ladies just throwing glitters together and it comes out awesome. :(

I would probably recommend using a regular nail polish matte top coat over regular nail polish since gel is more prone to peeling but you could use a gel base coat first, cure, and then use the gel matte topcoat. ❤️

I'm looking for a chunky glitter but there are so many I don't know which one to buy. Could you recommend one. I'm looking for a lot of colors. Maybe hearts, moons and other shapes. TIA.

It really can depend on your nails (whether they’re dry or oily) but my “hack” for longer lasting peel base is this: - apply peel base just shy of where your base/dip would be at the cuticle. That way the dip overlaps the peel base. - cap your edges with base and dip powder (I do this on my last dip of color and my dip of clear) - cap the edge and if you can, overlap the cuticle line with your top coat Basically - you want to deal in the peel base to avoid lifting. I get up to 5-6 days with this technique

I love the melody susie 2 in 1 dust collector and efile - it’s outstanding - been using it for quite a few months now

I have a question for you...When I apply my first coat of the top coat the brush is fine. But when I begin to apply the second coat, the brush is stiff and won't fan out - it acts like it's stuck together. This has happened with both products I've used. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Thank you in advance for any information. I greatly enjoy watching your videos - they have helped me a lot in my nail adventures!

So when you’re applying the top coat - are you wiping the brush off in between nails (before dipping back into the bottle)? I would advise doing this every time for both coats. That’s going to be your best defense against contamination. Also - before you too coat - make sure you activate, wait a couple minutes, then wipe the nails off with a dry paper towel. That’s key!

@@MarlaKris I wipe the brush between costs of base coat but I don’t think I am with the top coat. I’ll have to concentrate on that step as well. I wipe my nails with a damp paper towel after the activator (as per one product’s instruction) but I’ll use a dry one next time as well. Thank you!

YES!! You don’t have contaminate your brush when you swatch the underside first and then the top. Also - if a dip is very full coverage - you only need to do the underside and you don’t have to top coat!

@@theresagoyette1235 you can do a dip on top of you’d like - but I find some colors only require one dip for swatching so bottom is usually enough. If you so bottom only, no need for top coat! If you do the top too, activate and topcoat. (You only have to activate the underside.

Is igels clear dip clear enough to put over glitter?

Yep!! Just use a scrubby brush to remove excess before activating! 💞

It depends on thee type of glitter and how much glitter you want! I would personally mix some chunkies with some fine “filler glitter” and add that to clear. Maybe 1/3 of each.

Hi marla you are sooo talented I can't believe you are not a licensed nail tech. So here's a few questions.... 1. Who's base coat, activator, & top coat did you use in this video. 2. On the glitter nails did you prep that nail with clear powder going 3/4 down the nail then applied your gold glitter. 3. Do you recommend to always cap your glitters with clear. 4. How do you get such a clean application on your nails that it doesn't require the nail surface to be filed. I always have to file mine due to achieving smoothness and even surface. Hey sweets! I got answers lol 1- triple vitamin base and activator. Gel top coat (modelones) 2- I didn’t put clear under the glitter bc I use peel off base coat, but if you want a longer lasting manicure, I would recommend a clear dip first 3- YES! Always cap glitter in clear. Filing can really dull down your glitters 4- I definitely file! I usually file off camera because I need my nails in my face to file well and you wouldn’t be able to see anything on film 😂

Thank you marla for all the steps. So when using a peel off base is the application peel off base 1st on the natural nail. 2. Do you cure that or just let it air dry for a 2 minutes or so? 3. Then go ahead with dip base and 1coat clear dip powder going 3/4 down the nail then repeat with color dip or glitter working your way closer the cuticle with the base before I activate.

I had someone comment on my video in Russian or Polish, not sure. I put it into Google Translate. I quote, she said, "your nails are terribly done". All publicity is good publicity right? 😆😆
