DIO launches search to find the artist of mysterious Falklands painting
A striking painting of the Falklands War found at HMS Raleigh has prompted a search to find the artist behind it.
The artwork, which measures in at 20ft by 6ft, is thought to depict the Bluff Cove air attacks in June 1982. The attacks saw the bombing of the RFA Sir Galahad, which was the greatest loss of British life throughout the conflict.
Can you help us find who painted this piece?

Amazing art.
I remember same or similar painting at sea cadets block 189 to 1992 think it said who artist was amd was bout Falklands
I have a vague recollection on this, I think it was a local artist, maybe Robert Oscar Lenkiewicz, well know around that time, based in Plymouth, he used to paint murals, he died in 2002, there is a foundation for him. I think the painting was in a Navy News, or it may have been on the local bbc news. Thinking back, I am fairly sure it was him, there was some sort of dedication when the painting was revealed, it must have been in Navy News, as I started what was then called Mechs course at Collingwood in Feb 83.

What wonderful information! I hope it pans out! As a military wife, I have a lot of empathy for anyone who has served in a conflict or war. I understand more than most the horrors that never leave those who have lived through these experiences. ❤
No record keeping? Just some random guy unknowly painted a wall in a building.
