@Pain is Living yeah, in my opinion if they really wanted to go for the national geographic look. They should have went all the way. Make it so the animals don't talk. Sure they might need a narrator to explain whats going on. Maybe have James Earl Jones do it. Im not saying it would have been good, just at the very least it would be trying something a little different. Come to think of it, it's kind of why people didn't like the Walking with Dinosaurs movie. In the movie they made the Dinosaurs talk. Made it seem like a lame modern day emake of The Land Before Time. In the show the Dinosaurs didn't talk, it was Narrated. And of course I remember the show being a lot more interesting. Well I think it was a show. Maybe it was just a TV special.

There are two kinds of fans of Dinotopia - the fans who read and collected all of the books only to be disappointed that they butchered the source material with the movie adaption and the fans who discovered it on their own and knew nothing about the books, just the movie adaptation. There is no wrong or right way to enjoy Dinotopia!

Yeah. I discovered Dinotopia thanks to the animated movie i really loved back then. I still like it but yeah, there is no "normal" way to be a fan of Dinotopia or anything. I am looking at Star Wars toxic fans who treats the others like "fake fans" or "heretics" because they like something they don't Everyone has different tastes, no need to impose yours to the others

What a noble concept. By some miracle not all the dinosaurs perished from the asteroid. The willingness to share their world with upstart humans is something we as a species would be very loathe to do, even now. This is good fantasy. Right on Zippo!

@@tyrotorathetiger7674 I remember seeing myself as a young thirteen year old boy who was tall for his age, slender in the body, blue eyes, straight, long brown hair that was shoulder length but very thick, full and voluminous. I worn what looked like a black T-shirt and jeans with black leather steel toed boots. I stowed away on a boat as I was running from someone dangerous and while out at sea. A storm comes and during the chaos on the boat. I fell off the boat, into a lifeboat but washed ashore to Dinotopia. I'm found by Marion Waldo and Karl Scott. They take me with them as they knew I was shipwrecked. But I don't speak a word to them but I would speak sign language to them which Marion had learned to speak and translate fluently. As they take me with them. I am surprised that there are dinosaurs still alive on that island. Even if they were extinct everywhere else. But we see a Triceratops looking like it was in pain as it was grunting in pain from something. I'd go to it without thinking and I'd speak out loud for the first time as I managed to calm the Triceratops and it shows me what's bothering it by opening up its mouth and I pulled out a tooth as the dinosaur feels on pain and I hug the dinosaur and just let everyone know "It only had a toothache" Karl and Marion see that I don't seem to talk to people out loud but I talk to the dinosaurs out loud. They begin to think or suspect I'm not trusting of people yet to talk verbally to them. I meet Karl, Scott and their dad Frank while they notice that I don't talk out loud to them but when Zippo would speak to me. I'd talk to him verbally. They were concerned that I had something bothering me to why I spoke to the dinosaurs but not the people. I'd show that I'm very intelligent, powerfully strong, much faster than any human should be, helpful towards people of both humans and dinosaurs, and I had this strange ability to heal people of anything with a single touch of my hand. Whenever they ask me what just happened. I'd stoically tell them "I helped it. I took it back" which they oddly understood what it meant. They begin to wonder how my abilities came to be but they knew I was good. Yet when a fully grown adult human male arrives in Dinotopia in a scientist uniform. This man is armed, dangerous and wants me to come back to him but I do not want to go with him. This man starts to go around the island, causing chaos and fear in others but when he finds me. He tries to get me but Frank, Karl, Scott and a lot of people stand by me and warn him to leave me alone as Frank tells him "You are not laying a hand on my third son" which something about that had a huge amount of confidence rise within me. This scientist fires off a round at them but I get in front of them and conjure up a bullet proof force field. Me and this scientist have a battle between each other but in the end. I had no choice but to grab the last weapon he had on him. A machete and I warn everyone "Close your eyes" and when they do. They hear a loud scream but the scream was silenced. After I give them the all clear. They saw that the scientist was laying on the ground with a white sheet over him, it was stained with blood but when any of them got close to the body. I'd tell them "Don't look at it" which of course they saw that I had to do the one thing I didn't want to do in order to keep them all safe. His weapons are dismantled and after a year goes by. I begin to talk to both humans and dinosaurs verbally as they all hailed me as a hero. I end up with a Sauro-partner which ends up being a Triceratops whom I named Sakura. But than as Karl, Scott, Frank, Zippo, even 26, and others ask me about why the scientist was chasing after me. I figured it would be best to tell them. I'd explain to them that the scientist found me in a space pod that crash landed on earth and that the scientist started to hire a nanny to look after me as he does his experiments but once when I was five or six and I shown signs of having the ability to heal others with a single touch and that I had the ability to read minds, predict the future. The scientist wanted to experiment on me by trying to transfer my healing power to himself and others but his attempts failed, and his experiments caused me to mutate into a superhuman. Which would explain the majority of my powers and abilities. I told them I escaped and originally wanted to head for Australia but I ended up in Dinotopia which I told them I'd rather be in Dinotopia as I found the family that I've been wanting my whole life. We all hugged each other and they were surprised that I turned out to be an alien from outer space who got experimented on and had mutations as a result which I looked like any normal human by appearance. But they knew I was a good kid and they welcomed me into the family. I know that's a lot of detail but how did it sound?

I think they meant Sauro-partner. An honor that the inhabitants earn where they adopt a dinosaur when they're an egg and they immediately feel a bond between them as they are each other's Sauro-partners for life. It's not a marriage thing. More like adopt a child thing. Since some dinosaurs are raised by dinosaurs, those who ether got lost from their nest forever or something happened to their parents, they're taken to a hatchery so they can one day get adopted by a human and the human who adopts them become their Sauro-partner for life, they form a bond that only they can sense and it's a bond that can't be broken. So again, it's more like adopt a child thing if a dinosaur is unable to be raised by a dinosaur. The human is like a substitute parent for them.
