How is it that this commercial based on Walking with Dinosaurs is still funnier than any of the dialogue in the 2013 Walking with Dinosaurs movie?

Because their mouths move when they talk, and it relates to the topic at hand. Plus, the script didn't seem to be a last-minute decision.

It's because the commercial was made with the dialouge in mind, while the dialouge and all of the human scenes were added last minute by out of touch executives.

I think it’s because of two reasons; one (which is very obvious), the dialogue was written in mind; and two, the reason why the WWD Movie had terrible dialogue is because 20th century Fox executives thought Dinosaur movies were only for kids. So they got actors from popular kids movies like John Leguizamo (who starred in Ice Age), and Justin Long (who starred in Alvin and the chipmunks); to voice a bunch of crappy dialogue for the movie.
