Probably original ideas, because why would unrelated animals millions of years apart look identical to extant ones? It annoys me when for example someone just takes bird colours, put them on a dinosaur in a completely different niche and habitat and call it accurate palaeoart

@@flightlesslord2688 tbf most of the naimals in this doc are inspired by real life animals colours, such as the guanlong being a cassowary, and the Utahraptors were semi inspired by leopard patterning, some others i'm also certain were inspired too, not full on copied from a particular animal, but a mix match of different elements.

The model used for Ischigualastia in this documentary is actually the model for Placerias, which was gonna be in an episode but was cut, so they reused its model for the Ischigualastia instead.

I think it was supposed to be placerias but they changed the creature and the model stayed. But they are close relatives, so I would say it is still pretty accurate.
