Dimensional Analysis

This math video tutorial provides plenty of practice problems on dimensional analysis. Examples include converting years to seconds, miles per hour to meters per second, kg/m^3 to g/mL, square inches to square feet, and pages to hours.

    I realized this fact in a Belgian High school when I was 16 (5th grade ( in Belgium terms)) . This realization was fundamental to my understanding of physics. when I say 'understanding', I mean the ability to "feel" or "predict" what would happen. I always say; "it's not about the 'why's', it's about the 'HOW's'". This 'Dimensional Analysis' is useful to calculate or reason how something works. It can helt you imagine what the hell cm^4 actually means. Great knowledge!

    Why are months not considered when converting years to seconds?

  • @Grace-hs6vy

    @Grace-hs6vy

    2 ай бұрын

    Because if you were to use months,for example,it would look something like this: 1year=12months=30days=24hours=60minutes=60seconds.This would be wrong,only because months can have anywhere from 28-31 days.(So,the answer would be something like 31,104,000 instead of, 31,536,000. We just use days because all days always have 24 hours whereas, all 12 months don’t always have 30 days. Hopefully, this helped.)

    It's important to remember that everyone has varying levels of comprehension and cognitive processing. Some individuals may grasp information more quickly than others, while some may require more time to understand. It's important to refrain from mocking those who are actively trying to improve themselves. Please try to be more understanding and supportive.
