I listened to the original nonstop for hours when I was a teenager. The beauty and simplicity of the song were perfect. Dimash's version is more enjoyable to me as an adult. I bet Dimash didn't pick the song randomly, he must had enjoyed the original a lot himself.

I once saw someone reacting to Dimash saying something like "I used to be a professional singer before I discovered Dimash. I'm a dancer now" 😂😂😂

Yeah, there are many versions of that theme:) A Spanish vocal coach Areh said he tried to find a song where Dimash was off pitch or missed a note but couldn't find any (I don't know how much he watched but those are indeed hard to find). He then suggested that it would be best for everyone to stop singing and start making cross stitches. Well... (Of course, it was a joke)

Yes, I remember how warmly Dimash wrote. He congratulated her that she sang very beautifully. (Indeed, she did.) The young woman had Kazakh roots I think. In the end Dimash said that she could freely use his song, whenever she wanted.

The TV competition Dimash commented about was in China and I think the singer who covered his song was a young woman with Kazakh origins, living in China.

Love to watch you and your reactions to Dimash! I don't think he can or should be compared to anyone- he is at the level of his own (only if to compare to himself..chronologically), but the music world is huge and there is a space for all kinds of artists and music. To me he is an inspiration- certainly can't deny abundance of talent BUT he also works his a** off to be THAT good (though he often doesn't like what he sees when he rewatches his performances, so there is that perfectionism as a driving force). This performance is the Singer Chinese program in 2018 where Dimash was invited. Using folk arrangements like “Sybyzgi”, beautiful Kazakh wind instrument; Dimash skillfully mixes Eastern and Western styles, a bit of Kazakh folklore in between, creating a unique and mind-blowing ending. The last sentence of the song Dimash says "Wö-ai-ni" is “I love you” in Mandarin, out of respect for China. the phrase that speaks at the end are “Thanks” and “I love you”. At the end crazy high notes A5/D5 for 17 sec.

I think this competition was the beginning for Dimash for a lot of reasons. Remember this was an experiment. No non Chinese artist before was invited. Also the Chinese audience knew nothing of him. Dimash gained confidence throughput the show. His first song was sos a French song watching the behind the scenes. Dimash said to the producer that he didn’t like the arrangement, it was too far from the original. So Dimash stepped in and did it his way. He sang French, Russian, English, and Chinese. Which it didn’t speak. As appreciations to the audience he learn Chinese in a eeek to be able to sing a Chinese song. The whole thing is remarkable. That show and that song (sos) shot him to fame

A mí me encanta ésta interpretación por muchas muchas razones. La cantó en China, una canción norteamericana, de un autor afroamericano (excelente persona). El tema parece antiguo pero la juventud sigue viviendo ese drama, temen a las relaciones y al compromiso. Es una mezcla de razas, de economías, de religiones y Dimash las reconcilia tan hermosamente hablando de darle una oportunidad al Amor. No soy analista político, pero no pude dejar de lado todo lo que involucra ésta presentación. Me encanta y por supuesto a los chinos les encantó las palabras que les dedicó al final.

Yep, if he wanted to do a cover of your song it would be a huge compliment as he is very picky about the songs he uses. I think you're safe as he doesn't seem to do covers anymore unless it's the Kazakh folk songs. It's one of the many reasons why I'm a huge fan, I don't really like listening to cover versions but he seemed to move on from them as soon as was humanly possible. I really can't be bothered listening to people who don't seem to move on from using cover versions.

Most of the covers were for the Singer competition. That was the rules. Only allowed one original song was allowed I think. Had to be a well known cover

You need to do your own thing. Don’t compare yourself with anybody; specially with Dimash. You must understand that he can do things with his voice that no other singer can. His classical training and his God given talent put together, produces this amazing sounds that mesmerizes all of us. This cover is amazing. Take care. ❤️🙏

What makes art beautiful is the fact that each artist creates art that is unique to them. You can not replicate him because you are not him. People don't seem to understand that the most beautiful thing that they can create is sharing a piece of themselves with the world. Isn't that what art is? Taking a piece of yourself and putting it on canvas for the world to experience? Canvases exist figuratively in addition to the physical objects. I might have been reading too much philosophy again....

I heard this interpretation of Dimash many times now - I‘m blown away every single time! 💥💥💥 It just doesn’t lose its magic 💫

I hear ya about your own songs--but think of the compliment it would be! I'm not even sure he's doing covers now--except maybe ones that are 20-30 years old as a tribute to the original. I've heard him cover his own songs too 😁 Every version is just a little bit different.

Ok so you talking about how good he was at singing and us not realizing he could get better. This hello is one year later .. them calling him back to singer to perform. Which is what he’s done in practically every contest he’s enetered. New wave they called him back maybe it’s three years to judge young performers and himself and Igor performed three songs. And fly away is on number 20 some where on a billboard top100. Go back to singer this show right here 2017. It was 2 yrs ago for me. And like you said he did a 10 with sos andbperforming it better every time. But stay at sos in 2017. And analyze not just the singing as a 10. I went to wikipedia to see what was going on here. It wasn’t just his singing that he had a part of here. He had two masters, he sang in twelve languages he played eight instruments, he was a model force), for the breath and the physical aspects of singing he swam, played soccer professinalred belt in taekwando, had acted in three tv shows. Had a master course in broadway stage production. After/I read these things I figured it out. That producer on the show didn’t want Dimash to do what he did on sos, my suspcisions were that he wasn’t as experienced as Dimash. Look at siposbagain. These were perfessionals. Dimash produced or collabed the whole song. He had it all music by note music by ear. Could write the parts of anyone involved in the production of the song.. at the end of the show before he toured which is was completely ready for a solo tour. His album went platinum in 37 second and the again in a few more second. So Dimash not only does 10’s in voice but complete. Production of a song. He can write songs but collabs a lot with that. In stranger it was his idea to put to the kobetz in the song. He brings his culture to pop. That wat he said he wanted to do.I just know that sos went back to when he was 15 yrs old when he sang it.all his songs at the singer he had the ability to be the producer of the sounds he wanted

I’m of the opinion that the cover could not exist without the original. No doubt Dimash covers this differently from Lionel Ritchie, but there are still people who will prefer the original. (Not me, but I’m sure there are those who do.). This is a masterpiece that couldn’t exist without the original. I love it.

Don’t compare yourself to Dimash. No one will ever be that good. As other reactors say, just learn one thing from him, sing YOUR best, just put your whole heart and soul into it. One of the that Dimash does that makes him awesome is songs he chooses. The song has to mean something to him, touch him, he said. Someone must have really broken his heart as so many songs are about that. That’s just my opinion anyway

Do not think that Dimash is doing better, but that Dimash can help you do better because he is an example to follow :) Dimash has sung "opera 2" in his 2017 competition in China and the team of the original singer forbade him to sing it again ... Because obviously, he did better and different and they did not like it, but they are the only ones to have done it. When Lionel Richie heard Dimash's cover of this song, he said something like "Did I make this song?", Nice compliment.

Yes, but then apparently he (or his production company) haven’t allowed Dimash to sing it again. That’s the story, at least.

@@corimara2431 - Not sure we’re talking about the same thing. I meant “Hello.” I know Dimash sang “Opera 2 somewhere else - there is a clip where he sings it in a comedy show, but I’ve always assumed that was before his Singer performance. Did he sing “Hello” again, too?

A great reaction👏👏 Dimash was born to be a perfectionist, so every time he perfects every song as time goes by. And he belongs to the stage, or he owns the stage 🔥🔥
