Dimash was only 22 at this time..really just a kid. The other people in this competition were ages 30 through 60. Dimash spoke no Chinese or English. He had a translator with him at all times. Dimash is very close to his family and from what I’ve seen, he has lived a pretty sheltered life. Being in China for four months had to be a lonely time for him. Seeing his reaction to seeing his Dad was such a beautiful thing. Dimash is a very loving son and Grandson. I enjoy your reaction. Let’s see more.

Dimash has said in an interview that the most important thing for him is to please his parents, to make them proud

This was an easy win for Dimash.. as he showed that he was signing higher than Vitas… that Chineses do dislike, they loved him. And Vitas forbid him to signing again this song!!

Well said. You seem like a sensitive man. I think you would enjoy seeing Dimash singing Marigolds at the Kiev concert. His mother is in the audience and Dimash sang this song as it was Mother’s Day. No high notes or acrobatic runs, just a beautiful Ukranian song, which Dimash learnt the day before to sing for that audience and they joined in with his singing, which was special. The Aietbaev-Kudibergen family is a highly loving, close knit family. Dismas is now 29 and he father travels with him wherever he is touring. A few weeks ago, just before his grandfathers death, Dimash also had his two siblings travel to the U.S. with him. (Rashun, his sister, and Mansur, His brother) Rashun has been in University, studying Pre-Med and will be in medical school before we know it. Mansur now 16 is becoming a music composer. There is a video of Dimash' in which he sings a composition Mansur wrote the music to and they both wrote the words. The song is titled Together and both of his siblings are in the video.

One of my favourite videos so far. 👍 Dimash had been in China alone for several weeks and was homesick and missed his family so so much only 22 y.o. No wonder he was happy. 👍 Best regards from Norway 🇳🇴

You are a precious soul. Its only natural that you would get Dimash .and Dimash get to you. The intensity can be overwhelming. Dimash comes fro. A musical family. Both parents performed in their country. Mostly traditional Kazakh songs, but beautiful music. Dimash grew up in a fairy tale world along side a normal one facing bullies in High School. His family of course are very prpud of him and usually attend most concerts and affairs. Thry are close knit...and it shows in Dimash's character. There are some awesome docs and interviews. Thanks for your honest reaction. We get it. Thays why we are still here. Opera 2 ia from the show that launched Dimash into the spotlight. The Singer show in China. 1917. Dimash 22 yrs old. He was an unknown. Not a Chinese. But they needed to fill a spot. The show pits established professional singers to compete with each other. They figured he'd get voted off early going up against the pros. Lol Didn't exactly turn out that way. He came in 2nd place. But, everybody knew he was miles above them. Saving face with technicalities. He couldnt win because he wasn't Chinese. The performances from this show are great. Hello, The Show Must Go On, SOS, Daybreak 1....to be followed up with Daybreak 2 performed at Bastau. Adagio...you already did, but barely survived. Try it again later down the line. It took me a while to take it all in, but now its one of my favorotes. Confessa + Diva dance, Autumn Strong (version of Ikanide). Also during that time he did a couple other songs Go Go Power Rangers (movie) Ocean Over The Time (video game) Both awesome.

It has been some time since I have thought that I would like a reactor to come to my house and watch Dimash with me. I have been a fan since I first heard him in 2017. I like to watch Dimash with reactors, because I am bed ridden and except when my care giver is here in the mornings, I am alone, but it is so much more fun to feel like I am watching with someone else. Do not feel sad, I am very happy. Coffee or Tea?

در نوع خود جالب نیست او در همه انواع بی نظیر است ، او‌جرات این را داشته پاوراتی لارافابین فردی مرکوری و‌مایکل جکسون به خوبی آنها و با اضافه کردن های دیگه بخواند، حتا بهتر ، منم هر شب گوش می دهم . او اگر پزشک می شد یا وکیل و یا هر چیز دیگری بهترین بود چون او یک شرقی است

My favorite part was that when Dimash saw his father, he didn't run straight to him immediately. Dimash still had the presence of mind to thank the audience, and especially the band, first.

The lady you saw trying the high note is Sandy Lam a singer from Hong kong, who eventually won the competition. She is a great singer in her own right, as are many other of the competitors were. There was a great comradeship between all of them and although Dimash didn't win and came second it launched his career on the world stage.

Dimash has a wonderful sense of humor, and he really had fun with this song engaging the audience and the other contestants. This was in 2017, so he was much younger then. His boyish cheekiness here is so adorable. He didn't know that his dad flew into China to support him and was in the audience as he performed this song. If you watch the video to the end, you can see the heartfelt reunion between father and son. Dimash and his family are really very close, and their love and respect for each other is so wonderful to see. Opera 2 was a song by the famous Russian singer Vitas who sued The Singer show after Dimash's performance claiming they did not get the proper copyright permissions for the use of the song before it aired. Vitas said that he would never again give permission for Dimash to sing any of his songs in any venue for any reason, essentially banning Dimash from ever singing it again. So this video is the only chance we have to hear Opera 2 by Dimash in concert.

I guess that is what make Dimash even more incredible - the fact that he is not just a great artist but he is also an amazing person, so humble and caring about everyone, about his family, his fans, his country, everyone and everything. And I love to see his beautiful soul in every part of his songs and I guess that's why you will never be tired of listening these songs of his. That's just so amazing! And thank you for your wonderful reactions to Dimash😊

He tried to sue Dimash but lost the lawsuit. Dimash agreed to just not perform the song anymore.

Ahora sabes porque los Dears no solo lo admiramos como artista, sino que también lo amamos y lo defendemos como si fuera un familiar muy cercano a nosotros, es porque no solo es un maravilloso cantante e intérprete, también es una persona maravillosa, llena de valores que ya son difíciles de encontrar hoy. PD. Esa canción la tiene prohibida cantar, Vitas dijo que por derechos de autor, pero todos tenemos claro que fué porque le subió dos octavas de la original y eso a Vitas no le gustó 😂 de hecho tiene prohibido cantar cualquier canción de Vitas.😂

Yes a competition between already established singers. Dimash was invited, but as a foreigner he cud not win, it wasnt allowed. They changed that rule the following year. Dimash had no English or Chinese at this stage, he had to rely on a translator, who cudnt b with him all the time. It was Dimash's 1st time away from home on his own. Hence his reaction to finally seeing his dad in the audience. His dad hid as much as poss till the end. Dimash is 22yrs old at this point. He is now 29 this year 2023. Following thru on the songs he sang in this competition, wud helo u to hear the development of his voice. At 29 as u know, he is almost at the full maturity, though as Dimash continues to work on his voice daily he may of course go on to even further maturation. Can u please lift your video up a bit, so we can see the video and subtitles too. The 3 light u hve up above the video, also make it difficult to watch. Its like have torches shining in our eyes. Esa parte tan tierna..respetuosa y cariñosa de su trato con sus familiares..amigos..dears es una parte muy importante del gran amor que sentimos por el por supuesto que su voz..sus canciones nos enamoraron pero esa.parte humana y sencilla de el le da un plus que no se ve en otros cantantes!!!!

This is the first Dimash song that I listened to. I really liked his sense if humor, then his range..... So listen to more & more Dimash. He truly has a gift from God, I pray that he know Him!!!

It’s funny how Vitas told Dimash to not perform his song again :(. Perhaps industry issues but I think it’s because Dimash one upped him, even though vitas is angelic in his own way, dimash is SOMETHING ELSE.

Dimash' father and mother are famous opera singers in Kazakhstan. They are well known in Russia too. Dimash' parents contributed a lot to his development as a singer. But Dimash is... a singer from another planet!

Not sure if this was mentioned in any comments yet but fun fact: the original artist of this song, Vitas, banned Dimash from ever performing it in public again! He's not fond of being shown up on his own award-winning song, guess! LOL The original song only has one key change, by the way. 😁 I love the double-take when Dimash realizes his father is there, but when he tells his dad, "I want to go home," my heart shatters every single time!!! Their bond is so wonderful and it's a reminder that Dimash is human and has big feelings of his own! His greatest drive is to make his parents proud. I'm glad you watched the extended version so you could see their interaction. An interesting one for you to watch would be "The Story Behind Daybreak". During this same competition, about halfway through, Dimash became very sick. This video not only covers him battling that but also the emotional true story behind the song he was supposed to be singing. It's really an incredible thing to watch!

Did he do well? LOL Despite his immense talent and capabilities, Dimash is the most humble and patriotic person you could ever want to meet. After three years of listening to him, he can still bring tears to my eyes (and I'm older than you are). His family are very tight knit, as are many families of Asian countries, and I saw the other day that his grandfather had passed away. It was his grandmother who, at his age of five, saw his talent and enrolled him in singing classes.
