Dimash himself said that this song is the hardest to perform for him. Not in terms of technic but emotionally. He needs a time to prepare him for conveying all the pain and struggle his people got through.

Yes I've read these articles before ... the efficacy of music therapy is well known of course in the therapeutic world, and fits in with all the latest research on neuroscience and Polyvagal theory. For many of us Dimash's voice is tuning up our nervous systems and releasing endorphins that keep us coming back for more! I've referred quite a few of my clients to various Dimash songs and played several at a few of my workshops. This info however is still anecdotal and informal, so until there is some widespread quality research it won't be accepted by the mainstream ... I'll probably be referring him to clients though til the end ... 😂😎

Then Dimash, so invested in what he is singing, he makes you feel every bit of the hardships he as the young soldier is suffering. He will never see his elderly parents again because of the starvation in 1916. Such a powerful song, it shows the hardships that Kazakhstan went through, then and in the past then again during the Soviet years. Dimash embodies the character fully, he is the soldier and like him he was also born in the year of the dog and at 27 he was close to the 28 years of age for the real soldier. I love this song, and I think its very close to Dimash's heart as he parents, his elder Mama and Papa must have been on his mind here 🌟

You are so right about this song. It's always been my favorite too because it is so powerful and so sincere, all while remaining totally beautiful musically. And you are also right that the Tokyo Jazz Fest studio version is the best of all. It still mesmerizes me every time I hear and see it.

That's exactly what Dimash is doing, drawing all of his energy from "God" and the Universe. Every time that I have seen Dimash perform he takes the time for this, I am glad you noticed because some people don't, it's too bad because it's really something to witness. I hope you will get the chance to go see him live, he's phenomenal it's an experience that cannot be put into words.

The introduction with the kobyz sounds like the cry of a wounded beast and Dimash's interpretation carries all the pain of a soldier sent far from his homeland for a reason beyond him. The tornado video effect around Dimash during his vocalization illustrates, I think, the soldier lost in the dark whirlwind of war.I agree with you: this is Dimash's most moving song, both for its historical and human significance.
